Hey! I'm trying to get the hang of the music sequencer and I would be grateful if someone could help me a little bit.
I really want to get the hang of making music, so eventually I could make my own for my levels.

I know some basic stuff, but I wanna learn more.
You have to be ready for me to ask you 1,000 questions while you're teaching me something and I really don't want to start off with EDM or anything similar.
I want to start with something more classical or ambient. You know, Something that I can get used to and enjoy it even if it's a bit harder.

So it would be cool if one of you could help me out. See you around!

Music takes a passion.. more of an obsession really. I'm not trying to be rude but if you haven't already started messing with music on here then you'll probably never really start. If someone's desire to make music is based off using that music for something, then they've already messed up. Music is it's own reward. I'm sure that almost every lbp musician has been obsessed with music their whole life. I don't think that anyone can show up and teach you a lifetimes worth of obsession. And if it's something that you are really interested in, it's very difficult for someone to teach you on a sequencer. You could study music theory and eventually know enough to put together a decent tune. But musicians without any technical knowledge ( like me ) that make decent music have really worked hard to get where they are.... like years.. So if you want to learn music, I would suggest learning music outside of lbp. And be prepared because it's actually a lifelong journey... otherwise, just be happy with the music that has already been created by the music community.
I'm really not trying to be rude btw. Please don't take it wrong.

See this is the thing. I can't ask for some little help without receiving a whole lecture. Forget it.

I'd also like to learn a couple of things in sequencers in LBP. I mean, I love playing music in real life but I find making music in LBP rather different.

Hi Rex and yugnar, and if you have squeezed out our poor dolphins-R-lame, then you can also ask me and I will try to do my best for the rest! I've started to do music in the age of 40, it started with a little toy keyboard for my daughter, she showed nearly no interest and I loved it! Then I decided to take piano lessons, I could get a piano of my father in law. And getting a little better in playing it, I started to compose my first tunes! One don't need to have a life long passion for music! It doesn't matter when you start to do music, if you want to do music then give it a try and soon you will know whether you love it or not.

Greetings, Jürgen^^

Well my response might have been taken a little wrong. I didn't mean that. And I admit, it was a bit of a lecture. So I apologies for that. And I meant having a passion for listening to music as well. I guess people could help you with certain things like getting certain sounds or tones from the instruments.. or even some music theory if your really patient. Again, I apologies for how I said that.

I started a project with a friend a couple years ago. He always was just hanging around while I made music. I taught him how to make music sequences. It took over a year before he could make music on his own. Every day for hours we practiced. It can be done but you must have a very good friend who knows music to spend a lot of time with.

My parents bought me a piano when I was 15 but they forgot to buy me the lessons that went with it, so I taught myself. The internet was a big help. Piano is the best instrument to learn on. If you start with guitar, it's harder to learn other instruments because you start to rely on guitar tabs instead of looking at the music notes. Because I taught myself, I kinda limited myself. I have a really hard time writing music of my own.
