I here will be telling you all you need to know
Rules :
First : The music can only be an original song, you can't do a cover of a song nor can you remix one. Collabs between music creators and helping level designs are permitted.
Second : For this song, you will have two choices. You can do a single, which is as the name states a single song, or you can do an EP. An EP is basically a small album with more than one song. It usually has five songs. More songs does not mean better, but it does give you a slight advantage since you have more songs to show.
Third : The level will have to be called HYPSMUSICCONTEST - Level name.
Fourth : Just about anybody can participate, but we do have exceptions. The only people that cannot participate are those with over 2'000 hearts, as they already have a very large fanbase and it wouldn't be fair to new creators. Also, those who got a musical team pick can't participate. If you got tunesday, you are allowed.
Judging :
The contest currently has six judges :

This is simply a suggestion, but how judging will work is that the main six judges will choose their favorite, about four to five favorite, and afterwards, the community will choose the winner and the top three.
Prize :
The prize is the pride of having annihilated every other contestant. It is also a generous amount of fourty dollars that xXhypnaticxX decided to give.
But the pride of winning is a lot better.
Deadline :
Although not completely official, I have decided that the deadline will be somewhere near the end of july, to allow most creators to focus on their exams since school comes first.

Glad to see a forum post to help clarify some of the rules, haha. Although I'd like to see a confirmed deadline, I'll still spend some time on the moon making tunes for this contest!

Just so everyone knows, the level for the contest has been removed. The contest hasn't changed, it will go on as it would have.

Update : Hyp has informed me that there will now be a second and third place prize. $20 for second place and $10 for third. Good luck peoples.

i'm using simple melodies for mine, with some harmonically complex chords, and 8 bit Arp leads even if i don't place it will be fine

Quick update: We decided that having the community pick the winner from top 6 would basically be a popularity contest. Not enough people will be voting in this contest to prevent that. Long story short, Judges will picking top three and the winner. Good luck peoples.


Oh.. just realized that the actual date hasn't bee posted to the forum yet. Deadline is the 28th of July. I would hope that anyone actually in the contest has been paying enough attention to know this already
