LBP MS Instruments Kontakt/ShortCircuit Project

Greeting LBP musicians, Sound Friction returns again!

As you may have read in the title, I've started a little project to sample ALL of the instruments of LBP2,Move Pack and the new ones in LBP3.
Some people might be asking what "sampling" is, so for those who don't now: sampling is recording a sound and being able to play it back in a sampler (in this case Kontakt, wich you can see a picture from below).

http://macprovid.vo.llnwd.net/o43/hub/media/1087/8136/Kontakt.png

So why did I choose Kontakt and why did I even want to do this in the first place?
Some LBP musicians even work outside of LBP and they like some sounds of the MS instruments and I'm here to give them (also for myself, ) this for easier editing in their DAWs.
And why Kontakt? Well, Kontakt is a superb sampler and there even is a free variant of it called the Kontakt Player, so even people who don't own Kontakt can play with this.

If people have suggestions, please make them!

Sound Friction out.

EDIT:

There's a big chanche that I will continue this project for ShortCircuit1 or an other sampler.
While Kontakt is a great sampler, it isn't fit for some operations, for example: in order to do a portemento you must use automation and scripting and with ShortCircuit, automation is somewhat better. Another thing is that Kontakt can only hold up to 16 instruments at a time, and a lot of Kontakt modules can slow down the system.
But there's also a chanche I'll do both. It's just the preference that ShrotCircuit is better in this case of sampling.

ShortCircuit is an excellent FREE sampler, wich the first version looks something like this:

And I don't think I will do this for ShortCircuit 2, since it was never finished and is discontinued. Also version 1 is more stable and is more user friendly than version 2.

So anyway, you will hear progress made in this thread. Currently recording samples and other stuff.

EDIT #2:

I will continue this project BOTH for Kontakt and ShortCircuit 1.

The Kontakt version will be a more deluxe version:
- Custom UI
- Some extra features
- It will take up less Harddisk space (Compressed Kontakt .ncw files)
~ More difficult to controll than ShortCircuit
~ The free version of Kontakt, the Kontakt player, runs in DEMO MODE (=after 30min you have to restart Kontakt again)

The ShortCircuit version will be a more... Errr... less deluxe version:
- ShortCircuit is FREE and no restrictions
- More user friendly
~ It will (probaly) take up more Harddisk space

That's it for this update.

Hmmmm. Interesting concept! Not sure if you know how to make Kontakt Instruments but if you do then go for it! You'd have to nail the timbre because the instruments at face value suck. Hahahah, but it'd be fun to use some recordings from LBP with some post-processing in my tracks. The more outlandish things are, the cooler they are in the Future Bass scene. Not sure how I could help but let me know! If I can make some skins in Photoshop or do some testing (I have Kontakt 5) then shoot me a message on SC! https://soundcloud.com/subtact

Well, scripting and editing other stuff isn't a problem.
But if you're interested in making an interface background and that nice stuff, and testing for later when it's nearly finished, you're always welcome for your efforts.
By the way, I also have Kontakt 5 with some small libraries (except for Cinematic Strings).

I just use Kontakt for 8dio and EastWest stuff, pianos and EW RA. (Fantastic library) I'm not sure how I could do that in photoshop but if you know, tell me! hahahah

Wait, EW makes things for Kontakt..? I thought only for Play. :/
BTW, you wanna see the current interface? (made within 2 hours)

This is what I have so far:

It still needs pictures from the instrument chips, but I'll get those in LBP3 because I can make better quality pictures on PS4 instead of doing some in LBP2.
It will also have a modulation bar, wich can be automated, in addition some other things, but I'm starting recording soon.

Yo, does anybody want an early demo from the Dumbek?
This was a test to see if things were working, while the UI isn't finished by far, features miss, and is only avaible for Kontakt at the moment.

Project halted (and probably going to be dropped) due to no interest from others anymore.

I think it's interesting for sure. i'm just not using any real software (yet). I would definitely be all over that tennis instrument using real software

Oh man!
Sounded like a cool initiative!
You should finish it up even thou there is no interest from others!
Creating your own sample packs and sound banks always defines you as a producer
(Plus you never know what kind of future project you will encounter)

Btw: were you really planning on taping every sound incl. velocity and all?
That's an hell of a job...
I'd probably be faster with recreating them in a synth

Please do let it know if you finish this project, cause I would have loved to check it out!
And that layout.. I'd love to have that one vibing on a new track
