Hi everyone!

I've just published my new level, Tokyo Rooftops Madness : https://lbp.me/v/q3m2504/trailer?p=1&l=12

https://youtu.be/OSAnL2qtP4U
For a change, I decided to make a classical platformer. Not my favorite style but guess what, I'm satisfied by the result. I think you might enjoy the various gameplay, the bright colors and the funny easter eggs here and there.

I apologise in advance for all the WTF clichés about japan, but this is also why I like this country's culture...and hey this is LBP isn't it? ^^'

Tell me what you guys think. Arigato

Oh, waffleking23 could really like this. And I have to say: First Paris, then NY, now Tokyo? Hello Mr. Worldwide!
Will give it a try. Might even be better suited for my show. This weekend I'll produce a new episode.

LOL you're a good observer, Captain Obvious

Yes this country stuff only came late, when I realised I was so rational that I built a normal planet whith levels at their real places. So now it became a little game with myself, creating where my planet is empty, searching infos about countries, placing ironic decor in my levels to make players from this country smile. A bit like all the ironic brands in GTA5.

BTW I count on waffleking23 to tell me if the japanese words are bullshit or not ! And excuse me buddy for all the clichés, but that's the point : I did it with France after all ha ha.

Yep, colors and movement everywhere, Youtube could love that

Thanx again for your interest, buddy.

"Captain Obvious and Mr Worldwide against brainless levels makers" ...sounds good for an obscure Z movie.

Philosophical questions I wanted to share with you :

Today the level TRM reached more than 967 players. Tonight it will be more than 1000 (but not so much hearts). Each time I check there is someone playing at it.
I'm half surprised half disgusted by the "success" of this level.
I have to tell you guys : this level was a joke. A JOKE ! I made it in a fistful of hours, whereas my other levels required days or weeks of hard work. I hate this kind of jumping around levels, and I feel a bit ashamed to have published it. But it was an experiment, and unfortunately it worked... 1000 noob casual players... I can't believe it... It's kind of the candycrush of my planet LOL!
I don't know how old are the nowadays LBP players, but I've been reported "difficulty" with this childish level LOL!

Anyway, it's funny, and if people stay a bit on my planet, why not. But do you think there are just children now playing LBP ? Do you think people just want to have coop fun ?

Haven't played yet. I think your level was picked as level of the day, which gets you roughly 1000-2000 plays. Not all LBP players are children, but most folks want simple levels/platformers instead of story driven levels and riddles and such. It has to be accessible for all kinds of players. The more advanced players and players who are bad at playing (like me).

I'd say enjoy the success and be happy, because quite a few of those 1000 players are probably looking forward to your other levels as well. I have experienced that too. My race level has many plays and my other projects also have some attention.

Have played it in the new episode of my show:

Good platformer, I liked it.

Hey buddy, thanx for your advices and for reviewing this level ! The huge slap in the "Kuririn" face made me laught ha ha.

Okay, I must admit that I felt a bit depressed after seeing all this "success" compared to the amount of work I put into some of my other levels like The Witcher or The Sackboteur for example. But you're right, now I feel okay with it

Oh and yes, I wanted to ask you : approximatively wich sections of the level you thougt they break the pace please ?

You have a bigger audience with platformers and there are folks who enjoy other kinds of levels too.

I found what was a bit negative for the pace were the grabable bits with the crab where you need to wait for it to get to the right section and a few problems with layers and depth here and there. Other than that it was fine, but it stands out more than the rest because gameplay and pace is really important with platformers.

I got it, thanx. I totaly agree with you, pace is central. But I ike to vary the rythm, just for the player to chill a bit and appreciate the background and decorations. I don't like those fast paced platformers you see everywhere. And as I've been reported a "high difficulty" sometimes on this level, I wont accelerate too much the movement of those grabbable signs. But I've allready enlarged the platforms you're suppose to land on, so I think it'll be allright.

It's hard to create a level for all king of players. Not too hard but with some challenges. I'm surprised that this one seems to be "easy to play, hard to master", wich is a good thing. Maybe it's one of the reasons of its success. Anyway my next project wont be for anyone to play... I'm even wondering how far I can go with violence without being banned by the SUMO moderators.

I talked to StevenI about this, the community manager. Strong language is not allowed. You could say 'What the frog' or 'Damnit', but not the harsher words. Showing violence in LBP with sackbots is kind of hard to do. You can do it, it's safe to do. Nudity is also hard to do but not quite allowed.

What will happen when a moderator finds your level and the problems or when you get reported by someone your level gets 'taken down for moderation'. You'll get a message of the moderators to change the things that aren't okay. Honestly, use a secret button combination or a secret path that leads to a switch to activate the 18+ mode and don't tell anyone about the easter egg.

I've seen popular levels that have swear words in them and some gun violence and they're still up, because the community enjoys the levels and aren't too serious with stuff like that. Try things out.

Got it, thanx !

Yes I allready replace strong language.
I did some really gore stuff with sackbots and cinematics zooming on material build sequences. In the second episode of my ZCM series, some cameras can show you a dead body with an eyeball out, one with a brain with blood flowing, one with the head off etc... but nothing compared to my horror project.
Once I did a porn scene, just for fun lol. It works quite well, but of course I didn't published it.

There's a detailled crime scene with a "anatomically correct" naked girl in my firefighter level, it's an easter egg to find after the toilets room ah ah. I must sound like a weirdo now lol.

For the record, I think nudity (as long as it isn't totally the main focus of a scene) is not as bad. There's lots of nudity in Witcher 3 and I never found myself totally looking at it. It wasn't the main focus in most scenes. Sadly it's not allowed, it could really be used to sell the atmosphere more.

Gore is okay as long as people don't find it too disgusting. In LBP Vita there is a level with someone hanging himself at the end. It is still up, maybe even team picked.

Hi buddy! Thanx for your infos.

Woaw, the hanging scene still hanging online, that's impressing... And somewhat encouraging for doing stuff that are "on the tight rope". Good info thanx.

About nudity, I stock the news somewhere in my head.  Because for the main hub of my Sackboteur level, I originally wanted to remake the cabaret of the original game :

I personally wouldn't mind that. It sells the atmosphere more. I wonder how 'realistic' it would've looked.
