Ossu!

So, one thing that's come up with Roughly 15 Fresh is its inflexibility. As much as i love making it, it's not something i can just toss together; and the rules we've set for ourselves, while making for eclectic and enjoyable playlists, are, in the end, limitations.

i figured, i'd toss together a side series, something more stripped down, and a little broader in scope. i'll be using it to take a look at one level an episode with basically no restrictions. It'll also be a place for me to put tutorials (when i feel like making them), and community discussions/rants (when the opportunity arises.

It'll also be something i can continue making indefinitely, conceivably. i'm not saying that R15F will be going away when the first season's year is up, but it's a possibility i have to at least consider.

So we've got an intro episode up here
https://youtu.be/UeLCzhM7ZWY

Also, a first real episode up here
https://youtu.be/Asw3G94zWT0

In our first episode we take a look at Grind a Rail! from erik08032000, which is interesting, but has its issues.

So...let me know how you feel about all this. We'll be keeping everything in one big thread, because updates will be unscheduled (though definitely at least one a week).

Just a quick question: what means N/A?

Ah! N/A means non-applicable. That is to say, no answer would fit that category (here, an introduction wouldn't have a genre).

Coming back around for Round Two!

https://youtu.be/x8x2Oc8yRBA

We're taking a look at Heart of the Flip-side from Trindall, a four-course meal of old-school, batter-fried LBP1 goodness. Come see the greatness of LBP1-era logic, and waffleking23 completely missing the plot.

Level's Lucky Block Edition with Toggle! by king_birds.

It's solid dig-dugian level, not something i'm super into, but good none-the-less.

We've finally gotten around to Valley of the Kings by ima_taka. It's certainly a thing, mostly a good thing. Watch us find the break, like an Easter Egg. Super thanks to KatanaGirl1 for the heads up on this one!

Heyos! Got a new episode up and coming over hereabouts.

https://youtu.be/FbOLw_rv4lo

This go about we're looking at The Level about Elevators from Paczek321. A good platformer with a great presentation. As for a racer...

Anyhow, it's a good 'um, so give it a look, yeah?

Alright then, hopefully mic mistakes make great takes?

Anyhow, new shot of LBsP here.

https://youtu.be/fGp6JG7RD90

We're looking at CYBER KNIGHT by V3NTU5_R3ING3R. Which, by all rights should have been in episode 32 of R15F, except for the fact that i am dumb.

Give it a look, and the level a play; and have a fine day, yeah?

Heyas! We've got another quick look over here.

https://youtu.be/Ga-6bI_X1q8

We're looking at A Platformer by Woutery, a perhaps poorly named, but well put-together and all-around fun...well...platformer. It's recent, but coming to us out of LBP2; thankfully no bugs or glitches seem to make an appearance. Give it a play, 'cause it's an awful lot of fun.

Y'all have a great day, yeah? i'm off to tuck into some home-made keema curry, and also more Isaac and then editing.

i'm not sure, to be honest. He popped up over on Sackimina a week or two back, and mentioned he'd made a new level, so i scooped it up. i never got the chance to play LBPV, unfortunately, lacking a Vita (i've never gotten too much into handhelds, really).

It's a fun level, though; hope you enjoy it.

Quick heads up, we've got a pure information episode coming up here.

https://youtu.be/LCJJb2g8WgM

Basically just going through the episode types and their corresponding title board colours. Nothing of massive import, but it might be useful if there's a particular episode type you're not  that interested in. In case you don't feel like watching this one, the colours go like this:

White - First Impressions, R15F-style looks at community levels, with the shift that the creators may be folks we've looked at before, the plays may be higher than 2,000, and they can come from any of the LBP games.

Blue - Second Look, Levels i've played, but haven't shown before.

Yellow - Series/Community/Game Information, Anything that might come up with LBsP or R15F, also a place to field questions from viewers that might be easier to talk about than type out. Community Info could be things like contests and contest winners, if the forums would like me to do some promotion of those. Game Info would be limited to things like changes in level moderation policy, or, Entropy forbid, another set of servers getting shut down.

Purple - Tutorials, Probably won't have too many of these, but if i get the bug, or if someone wants to know how something was put together, that'd be here.

Green - Story Time, Basically a back-up plan if R15F doesn't continue after its one year. Stuff like we see in the intro sections, probably bulked out to around 6-10minutes. Also, if i get an idea to do something goofy, like a commercial from the R15F world, that'll be in green.

Fire - Rant, Let's hope we don't need to see this one too often. Also, in the episode i should have said, "...not in the remit of the show," not "...not in the rubric of the show." i have no idea how i screwed that up.

Right, so that's the that, thanks folks!

Ossu! Time for a quick episode of LittleBite-sizedPlanet over here . Quick 'cause i've got to get moving for work really soon, like.

https://youtu.be/jvJWcDR3Ihc

So this time we're peeping Carnivalia from zinetiX-.

It's...ahh...well, it certainly has existence, can't take that away from it. At least it gave me a chance to look at some LBPVita walkthroughs on YouTube so i could make comparisons. Man, i kinda wish i was more into handheld gaming; it looked pretty cool.

Anywho, gotta run! Have a great day, y'all!

No time to talk about it, 'cause i've got to get to work, but it's cool, check it out (the level, not necessarily the video).

We're taking a peep at A blazing night by BzR242. It's a neat little vehicle challenge level that i completely fail to grasp, so you can watch me stammer like a damned fool.

This go around we're looking at mijinko by tamamipu. It's...it is in fact a thing. A really odd kinda thing. Not really what i was expecting, not super great, but it had its charm.

Thanks as always, and have a great day!

Just a quick little episode over here

https://youtu.be/EfXiVu7MhKQ

As per discussion in the R15F thread, we're introducing the Orange Diamond grade. This ought to be the last new grade we see, so four main ones, and two almost never-used sub ones. That's not quite too many, i hope.

As always, have a great day, and thanks!

Yoshi! Another quick, before-work look at over here!

https://youtu.be/t8gKX6ycvPw

This time we're having a go with Easter Village by Muncherization. Paczek321 brought this one to my attention a bit ago, and now i get to bring it to you. Have to make slight apologies, though; the whole outro, i kept calling the creator MuncheNization, instead of MuncheRization. Mea Culpa.

Anyhow, it's a laid-back, slow-paced, but fun enough level. Give it a look, yeah?

We've got a quickie informational episode coming up here.

https://youtu.be/punKZu-JdR4

It's mostly for the folks over at LBPC, since i'm having troubles posting there; but i figured it'd be good to get a heads-up in the thread here, too. At least that way the numbers will line up right.

Now, having made the video, the problem should probably resolve itself post-haste, you know for maximum egg-on-face.

To make up for the slightness of the last episode, we've got another poppin' up here.

https://youtu.be/ClP1wYEuDV4

This time we're looking at Wall Dodge by Craftling. It's a solid, if mayhap oversimple, survival challenge; very much in Crafling's style. Certainly fun for one or two stabs at, so give it a looksee, wot wot?

Thanks as always, and have a great day!

https://youtu.be/wMyby9LhCa8

This time we're taking a butcher's at Castle of Forgotten Toys by SmithyBlacksmith. It's...it's ok enough.

Side note, but it looks like Wall Dodge got picked up for a developer's choice or level of the day or something? Kinda neat we beat 'em to the punch for once.

So...back (a little late, perhaps) with 13minutes on hate.

https://youtu.be/sYAnC7YdJDs

Not the happiest of topics, but something came up that got well under my skin. It is a rant (in my own, low-burning, aside to the audience style), so if you're not up for that, it's cool if you don't give it a look. Still, it is a thing that happened, and i'm sure happens fairly frequently, if the Law of Large Numbers has any validity. Also, it should be pointed out, i know i screwed up and said Charlotte, not Charlotteville.

Ossu! Just a quick tutorial  on putting a little (non-bouncing) flicker in your bounce pads.

https://youtu.be/KFWTs3nGCUg

Nothing super big, but something that got a little too long to keep in R15F-040. Maybe too simple for folks, or maybe something that might help, but here it is nonetheless.

Behind the curtain stuff: i was planning to put up a level look-at, but this came up, and i decided to run with it. Also, 'cause that "oh this will be so simple" episode of R15F (of course) turned out to be not quite so simple. Well, at least it was fun to make (both the tutorial, and the R15F episode).

Thanks as always everyone, and have a great day!

Alright, got a quick return to actual play with a second look at Deceitful Delights by cmh95 over here.

https://lbp.me/v/cg3pkd

It's a really fun, well-presented bounce pad focused slice LBP2 awesome, so definitely give it a look-see.

Right then, off to work! Have a great day!

(Edit to add)Bugger, i forgot the level select screen, didn't i? i'll have to edit and re-up the video, but no time for that right now. Sorry, folks!(/eta)
(Edit to Add II)Alright, got the corrected version swapped in. If you watched the original, there's nothing new here except for the level select page, and a tiny change to one of the PiPs. Sorry for the bother, folks(/eta)

https://youtu.be/NDqIKfYw4xs

This go about, we're taking a look at *Peace* by aiko-ami! Technicolour fever-dream, or nightmare? Fiend or menace? You be the judge!

i know there's not a lot of space between the last episode and this, but there are so many levels to get to, and i had a spot of time. But this level's a hoot, at least in my humble opinion, so give it a looksee, if you haven't already.

As always, thanks for everything and have a great day!

Alright, so we've got a bit of an odd duck coming to us in this latest episode.

https://youtu.be/yhwpCf0nxks

We're taking a look (perhaps poorly) at The World As We Know It... by Lillianna2nite.

It's an interesting and evocative little thing. It's also the first time i've taken a look at a full-on iCandy level, and i don't really know what to do with it. Still, give it a look, yeah? Err.. The level that is, not necessarily the video; that's a lot of noodling, really.

Alright! Coming back at ya with another dose here!

https://youtu.be/8luLXhT3_lc

This go about we're taking a look at ????????????? (Fire of Terror) by A-tony-MONTANA.

It's a spookytoons slice of Jside goodness wrapped around a pretty decent Hook-hat Platformer(?). It's fun enough for at least a go-through, so give it a look, eh? The episode's a bit longer than usual, but that's because we get into a little language trivia at the end. Also, because i've been up since three AM, which only  increases my propensity for babble. Sorry, 'bout that!

Ossu! Back again for another nibble here!

https://youtu.be/XSEKV-25ywU

This time around we're looking at SPY RUSH by Xx-53Luffy53-xX.

i know it's a DevPick, and i don't usually look at those, by Luffy was so nice when he asked, and i do always ask for requests, so i couldn't really say no. Plus, i've been looking for an excuse to look at another of Luffy's levels since we looked at Jelly Island: Infiltration way back in R15F 004.

Short version: SPY RUSH is a lot of fun.

Behind the curtain stuff: i seem to be over whatever funk i was dealing with the last few weeks, so that's nice. This Friday's R15F is done but for the PiPs, and if i really crack down, i should be able to get at least most of Episode 044 done by Friday. Working on 043 the other day, things just started to feel right again.

As always, thanks for everything! i hope you all have a fine day, and if you're in any disaster zones, take care!

Geeze...two in two days, eh? Well, we're back at it over here.

https://youtu.be/plv0qxeQKOg

This time around we're looking at ???????? -survive! brain- by xo_2136_ut_771.

It's, simple to the point of starkness, elegant, and mostly fun. Certainly worth a spin around the wheel, so give it a look, yeah?

Behind the curtain stuffs: Ended up wrapping up the level recording for episode 044 done, so that's alright. Figured i could probably get halfway through the intro setup, or put together a quick LBsP episode. i think i chose...wisely? Anyhow, have to rush off to work soon enough, so...rap at y'all laters like!

Heyos! Back again for another bite here.

https://youtu.be/DTP61WSHgvo

This time we're taking a look at Over There and Back Here Again by scuzzy1973.

Folks...it is really, really good. Maybe that's just me, but it hits all the LBP2 high-notes, and deserves well more than the paltry 114plays it's gotten, so give it a good go through.

Behind the Curtain stuff: Not much, really. We finished grocery shopping, so there's that. Level recordings are done for episode 045, and the intro is about 3/4s finished. Figure we should get at least that much done tomorrow, but maybe the outro as well, if things shake out right.

As always, thanks for all the support, and have a great day!

Ossu! Got another episode comin' up fresh over here.

https://youtu.be/AZG0YP3JGvI

This go about we're taking a look at Switch Gun Sewer by MofoSupervillain.

It's a really solidly put-together and presented power-up platformer, that is also, undeniably full of poo. Still, give it a go, 'cause it's really rather fun.

Behind the Curtain Stuffs: R15F episode 045 has been wrapped and uploaded, and the levels for 046 got recorded this morning. Things move along apace.

Alright! Another Quick Bite coming up over here!

https://youtu.be/Y7WyOHYJBJ0

This go about we're taking a look at Cranium Cadoo by FlammableWhale.

It's a pretty solid, though not great, LBP2 wall-jump, interesting-mechanic platformer that doesn't survive the translation to LBP3 all that well. If you've got access to LBP2, give it a look there, yeah?

Behind the curtains: can i get all this uploaded and updated, and still make my train for work? Fingers crossed!

Heyos! We've got another little bite here.

https://youtu.be/KwezIy5bBAA

i'll have another copy of this post in the tutorials section.

This go about we're doing a quick(-ish, it's about 15minutes) tutorial on setting up basic sackbot NPC interactions. Give your players a bit more control over when they talk and who they talk to. We may have some more tutorials in the same vein in the future, looking at emotional prompts, or event prompts, but this should get the foundationals down. Hopefully this is simple, and easy to follow, but i can never tell.

If there are any questions or issues, don't hesitate to let me know; this episode took so many takes, i think i got the least bad one in the end...but i worry my coherency may have suffered some. As always, thanks for all the support and have a great day!

Behind the curtains stuff: i feel like i slacked a bit on LittleBite-sizedPlanet recently. If i look at my update schedule, that's not actually the case, at least i'm getting one, and sometimes two, episodes a week...but still, it feels like i am. With luck, i should be able to get out a level look at on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Alright, coming at you quick with another little bite over here.

https://youtu.be/xkTICWjlJ9Q

This time around we're looking at Fisherman's Village by Addictex.

It's a creepy little charmer that's brought down a notch by one glaring (but fixable!) error in the end. i'd say more, but i'm in a super rush right now. Thanks Addictex for the request, and thanks all of you for following along. Have a great day!

Behind the curtain stuffs

Got level recording for episode 049 done. Everything for 048 is done but the PiPs, and really they just need to be cut out and inserted, i already know the times for them. Spent a goodly chunk of yesterday on my bike on a very Nineties-esque search for a Switch that wouldn't break the bank. It was actually kind of fun, to be honest. Did end up at the end of the day with the Splatoon2 Pack, and picked up Mario Kart 8 int he deal. Got a fair amount knocked off the price because i got it used, and...get this...the box was a little scuffed, and there was a scratch on one of the controllers. Sometimes Japan can be amazing-sauce,

Yeah, i had a really good time with it, and hope to give it another play to see the fixes. i hope it gets all the attention it deserves!

So, we've got another quick bite over here.

https://youtu.be/fitggjKUdq0

This time we're looking at Proxima B4 by ONOR67, the latest in the Proxima series, and the follow up to the extremely awesome Proxima B3 that we looked at back in R15F - 027 Hogwash. The TLDW version is B4 is a solid level that suffers mostly in comparison to the previous installment. It's still quite good, and is definitely worth a play, though i would recommend the series as a whole, instead of just this one. One thing i forgot to mention in the episode, but the music is really, really good. i'd love to know where it came from.

Behind the Curtains Stuff
So...so busy. i swear it's like, nothing ever comes up singly, it just has to be a dozen things all at once. Nothing bad, actually mostly good, but everything eating just a bit more time than expected. So, sorry about being a little slow on the LBsP side of things. On the positive side, R15F 049 is done but for the PiPs, and the primary level recordings for 050 got wrapped this morning. Whew.

@TwisterKiller70 Yeah, i'm really surprised ONOR67's levels haven't gotten a little more attention. The ones i've played hoave been really well done.

@mdkd99 Unfortunately no Travolta-action this go around. There is a giant spider beast, though. i'm not sure where that falls on the TotalTravolta to NoTravolta scale for you.

Ossu! Back again for another round over here.

https://youtu.be/n5NvcsNznks

This time we're having a look at Cursed Trains (Intro) by mdkd99.

The short version is we've got a fairly solid introduction to the world of the story with a likeable protagonist, and some good environmental work that's let down just a little bit by ancient Japanese art theory. i liked it a lot and it's worth a good look.

Behind the Curtains Stuffs: i always have a little bit of a hard time engaging with these kinds of levels as a reviewer, because what i want to do (take my time, noodle about what's going on, look closely at things) is fairly at odds with what i need to do (present what's going on in a way that makes sense and at the same time manages to be interesting and pithy). i don't know that i threaded the needle this time, but i hope so.

Also, it's raining today. Which means i have to take the subway into work. If i suddenly disappear of the face of the planet, y'all will know it was mdkd's fault.

This time we're taking a look at DONT FORGET LBP1 - NICE-PLAYEUR

It's...well...it's a thing. Apparently i played it previously, and...i retained no memory of it at all. Still i had fun enough with it this time, so there's that. As always, have a great day, y'all!

Behind the Curtains Stuff i don't know how i can be so busy, and yet feel so very lazy. It has been really weird not doing recordings for R15F, though

Alrighty then, got another lil' bite comin' at'cha here.

https://youtu.be/3XcahrwuaFw

This go about we're looking at PENTA by Creat1ve-Gen1u5-

First up, GO. PLAY. THIS. LEVEL. NOW. It's ok, i'll wait.

If you can't do that, and you can't watch the episode, the short story is we're looking at something that has no right being in LBP3 at all (and i mean that as the most laudatory praise possible). i forgot to mention in the episode, but the music's great too. i...also may have been surprised into an F-Bomb that i couldn't quite edit out, so there's that, and i'm sorry.

Have a great day, y'all! We live in interesting times.

Ossu! Guten Morgen! Woke up at 3.30a, so i thought i'd toss together another little bite here.

https://youtu.be/NKTQy-xaGdw

This go about we're looking at Simplexity by Rayvolution.

Long story short, it's a pretty solid "build itself around you as you go" platformer that doesn't well survive the transition into LBP3. If you have the opportunity, give it a look in LBP1, because it really is rather nice.

Hope you're all doing well, i've got to get myself ready for works.

Sorry i missed this one. The video for S2-001 is uploaded, but not scheduled for publish until Dec 8th, 8am (Jtime). Scheduled publishing is the bestest.

Also, for funsies, we got recording for 002's levels done this morning. Busy as a beaver, over here.

And....got another little bite coming up here!

Episode 038

This time about we're taking a look at ***Colorful City*** by vivasjunior.

It's a solid example of good gameplay and stylized environment, with just a few sour notes to leaven the mix. All in all pretty fun, though. Be sure to check out some of vivasjunior's other levels as well, as they're quite fun!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs

The "insert video" button seems to have disappeared for me. If it pops back up later, we'll fix things to put the video in as normal. Until then, there's just the link, i guess.

Super busy like, over here. R15F-S2 episode 002 is wrapped, uploaded, and scheduled for Dec. 15th. We also got the level recordings for ep.003 finished up as well. Jumping the gun a bit, perhaps, but today wasn't much busy, and the rest of this week looks to be, so...you use the time you've got, eh?

Alright, it's been awhile, but we're back for another round here.

https://youtu.be/ppuJZERu8VI

This go around we're looking at The Factory of a Worse Today by LittleBigCat21.

The short version is, it's a pretty decent, at times tricky, platformer that never quite lives up the implied potential of its name. It's also unwinnable when played in LBP3, so if you can, give it a look in its native LBP2.

As always, thanks for all the support, folks. Hope you all have a fine day, and a fine whichever Holiday you happen to celebrate. You could always go with celebrating Mithras' birth from the rock, but that would require you having a bull on hand, so maybe that's a no-go.

LBP3 uses different scripts when it comes to the emitters. Maybe the new scripts don't get applied to the emitters in LBP2 levels.

However, I like the level. It looks really promising.

Huh, that's interesting. i mean, i knew things could change up a bit between versions, but i'd not realized they'd actually kitted the emitters up differently. Wonder why they went and did that. Still it is a pretty fun level on LBP2.

Ho ho ho! Got a bit of a late entry over here!

https://youtu.be/OeALOE0P7aA

This go about we're taking a look at So You Think You Can Claus! by WaffleGod345.

The short story is it's a pretty solid on Oddsock level with one misstep at the beginning that can really make a hash of things if you're not careful. Also, maybe, Satan. Still, it was a fair amount of fun, and worth giving one play to. Also, there may be a little bonus footage at the end, if you're into that kind of thing.

Thanks as always for all the support, and hope you have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
We still have PiP'ing to do for episode 004, but we got the intro and all the level recordings done for 005, so we're almost back on schedule again. This is nice.

I think it's very simple. LBP3 uses a different script because of the layer mechanics. I'm not an expert when it comes to script langauge, but I guess when the script of LBP2 activates the emitter of LBP3, it doesn't work, because the object that should be activated, doesn't exist (The LBP2 emitter). Or the LBP3 script gets applied, but due to the emitter of LBP2 the script doesn't activate the object, because a different script is required.

In short: The LBP3 script of the emitter is not compatible with the LBP2 script of the emitter.
---
However, I think this level was also interesting. I had a laugh when you got stuck down there because you ignored the prompt.

This time we're having a peep at Light's Forest by SrFreeze.

Short version is, it's really very nice. Quite chill, so if you're looking for something faster paced and more challenging, you'll nae find it here: on the other hand, if you're in the mood for a relaxing stroll through a very well-presented environment, this one is probably for you. i really liked it myself.

Behind the Curtains Stuffs

Episode 004 of R15F is in the can and uploaded, and we're halfway through 005. This is good. Also, no hangover; which is fairly shocking, all things considered.

Ossu! Coming around with another quick one!

https://youtu.be/je1YybwUTk4

This time we're having a second look at Battle With Zombies 3 - Beta by mdkd99.

Long story short it's still very much a work in progress, but fun enough for what's there. Which is waves and waves of zombies for you to shiv, or haphazardly plink at with your starting weapon. It'll be interesting to see where this one ends up, but it's not quite there yet.

Behind the Curtain Stuffs

Spent basically all of today recording and editing, but episode 005 is all done and uploaded, 006 is done but for the PiPs, and we got this one done about in the nick of. Whew...

Ossu! Comin' back at you with another quick one here!

https://youtu.be/MbJjbjD5Lto

This time around we're taking a look at From Cheddar With Love.. by CANDY_KING_ALEC

The shorthand version is this is a ripe slice of old-school love, here. A very solid level, surprising in that i think it could hold its own against a fair number of levels made in LBP2 or 3. It's not necessarily excellent, but it's definitely worth a quick runthrough. Also, it's completely functional in LBP3, which is something of a surprise. Nary a break nor a glitch that i noticed (aside for one area with slightly over-bright lighting).

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
So.. i went and scrapped the outro for R15F - 007, which meant a lot of unnecessary work today, but i think i'm happier with the result, and it's been uploaded and set to go for tomorrow. Half-done with episode 008 as well, so we're just about back on schedule. i've not been putting together as many LBsP episodes as i'd like, but things have been kittywumpus with work recently, and i ended up losing one of my most productive day for putting things together two weeks in a row. Hopefully my bosses will cool it with all the jerking about.

Ossu! Here we are and back again for...well...not a super happy episode, but a few things i wanted to get into.

https://youtu.be/lsonk777wC8

We're using the excellent Miasuma | Above The City by Sparky-Gaming as a backdrop for a little community chat. Mainly looking at the end of LBNetwork, and what the site meant to me, with a little bit on the segue into DreamVerse, and a bit on what we'll be doing in the future with Dreams. It's a bit nannering, but i wanted to say something, and this is just what tumbled out of my mouth. With good timing, there may be a more standard look-at-a-level type episode coming tonight or tomorrow, but it depends on how things hash out.

Thanks to everyone who supported me at LBNetwork, i can't start to explain how big that was for me. And, thanks to all the folks supporting me everywhere else, none of that's been chump change in my books either. Y'all have the best day you can now, eh?

It's probably a bit too simple for a lot of folks, and yet i still run into these kinds of issues fairly frequently. Another two coming up today!

First round is Desert Crate Shipments Inc by zeefam

https://youtu.be/u7Zn4xxKi8Y

Short story is, it's a really fun LBP1-esque bit of platforming wrapped up in LBP3 gameplay elements. There's one possibly frustrating bit, but otherwise it's well worth a look.

Second up is just a bit of series info.

https://youtu.be/ZjVF7UqyepE

Basically my LBP.me LBsP playlist is full up, so i'm pulling the first set of five off the top to make room at the bottom. i think i'll do this each time i get it full. Though...to think about it, maybe it would be better to do in sets of 10? Anyhow, this is just a chance to push those first five one more time, and to get their lbp.me links all in one place.

The levels in particular are:

Grind a rail! - Erik08032000
Heart of the Flip-side - Trindal
Valley of the Kings - ima-taka
CYBER KNIGHT - V3NTUS_R31GN3R
A Platformer - Woutery

They're all worth a play or two, even Grind a Rail, which i'm still not all that good at. Give 'em a go, yeah?

Thanks as always for the support, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuff
Got the dialogue for episode 010 wrapped up this morning, but decided to work on LbsP stuff instead of wrapping the episode. i should, should be able to get most of it done tomorrow, i think.

https://youtu.be/o3PQ1vOHNF8

This time we're having a look at Ethereal Illusion by blackbird31468

It's an excellent little sci-fi romp from LBP2. Solid in look and gameplay. It's perfectly functional in LBP3, but looks nicer and has a few fewer break points if you play it in its native format. Hope you give it a look-see and have a good time playing. Thanks for all the support folks, and have a great night!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
The night is long, but i am full of curry, so that's alright. We've got another LBsP in the pipe, it may be coming up tomorrow morning or tomorrow evening. i'd love to get it done tonight, but time's just kind of slipped away on me. It's not even all that late, but i'm just beat.

This is just a little look at signposting in levels; where, why, and how. At least, it's supposed to be. Thanks for all the support, and have a great night!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Each segment of the video took at least 10takes (that's not even exaggerating), and everything got recorded out of order, because i liked something at first, and then something that got recorded later screwed up a segue, or i looked at it again and didn't like it. Anyway, it was a thing, and i hope the end result is helpful.
i'm going to put together a gallery level with the logic bits and bots we've looked at in the LBsP Tutorials, but it's not going to be tonight. Sometime this week, at least. i hope...

Ossu! We've got a bit of an odd one this go about. These were levels that were slated to be in episode 016 of R15F-S2, but ended up being cut from the show for reasons. Since i'd already recorded the level footage, i didn't really want to scrap it. So...here it is, make of it what you will.

https://youtu.be/4AtTR9sIf78

The levels we kind of look at are:

Sneaky ninja - rafkot (no longer up for play)
_Coded - echelon_12256

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
i'd been thinking of bundling this in with LBsP for awhile now, and some issues with importing files from PC to ShareFactory gave me the push. See i keep getting messages when i try to import my Isaac videos that "There is insufficient film clip storage remaining to import this file," i don't know what or where they're referring to with that, but the only project i have left sitting in SF is the footage we see here. So...yeah.  i'm angling to get a real LBsP update done today, but there're six other things i also have to do, and the import issue has tossed a real monkeywrench in the works.

Thanks mdkd, i don't know what's going on but...it is what it is, i suppose.

Actually have another quick shot coming up here (two in one day?!).

https://youtu.be/3Mtzb4o-4uE

It's just a quick little look at how we're finding levels for the series, and how that's changed since we started up this whole thing. Also it was a good chance for me to see how integrating video off the laptop into video off the PS4 would work. i think it turned out relatively well. Thanks as always for all the support and i hope you have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
So...i still can't seem to import my Isaac files into ShareFactory. i really don't get it; it says they should be under the size limit (generally they're half the size limit, actually), they'll load in up to 99%, and then crap out. It's really kind of frustrating. i got the files for this LBsP in, though they were all comparatively tiny. *Shrug* i dunno. i guess i'll have to stick with rendering on the laptop. Which is...maybe ok? i looked at one of the episodes i rendered through ShareFactory, and that had frame drops too. So, maybe it really is on the recording side of things? i don't hardly know.

Tried to do a quick stream on Twitch today. i set up my laptop to the side of me so i can keep an eye on the chat (not that i really expect anyone to pop in, but i want to be used to looking at two things at once for when i do the R15F stream). So, it's running normal for a couple of minutes, then it crashes out with at "If you want to see this content, you'll need a time machine" error message. The PS4 showed i was still broadcasting, so...geeze, i don't even know. i'm going to try Streaming to YouTube and see how that looks.

What a crap day. Well, i can't really say that. i did get the LBsP stuff done. i just wanted to do more, yeah?

Ossu! Calamity strikes! But opportunity also knocks! i think i'm mixing metaphors, but i'm also dropping another quick bite on y'all.

https://youtu.be/8oBd77TPbm8

This go about we're having a look at Going Underground by BzR242

It's a cool little piece of kit, and one of the few skating levels that kind-of sort-or felt like skating. So give it a play if you haven't already and see what you think. Thanks as always for the support and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
's been a long time since i've had to ditch a level for R15F on account of my mic being off...but i think this is the first time i've ever had to ditch a full set list. So...kinda salty about that. We did get another set of levels recorded, but it was all kind of a waste, no? Maa...at least episode 023 is fully in the bag and uploaded, PiPs and all. With the levels recorded today, we're 1/3 the way through 024. Let's keep this engine going, yes?

Ossu! Lovely vacation, all this time on my hands. Which means we've another quick bite for you here!

https://youtu.be/1mF4aY91250

This go about we're still taking care of the damage from yesterday's kerfluffle, so we've got a second look at Ultra Green V2 by Robo_killer_v2. Do you like big, intricate, yet ultimately goofy robot dinosaurs? Then this is the level for you! Give it a play and see what you think, and, as always, thanks for the support and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
There's one...maybe two more levels left to work through yesterday's mic-implosion before we get to other things with LBsP. Which isn't the worst thing in the world, but i'd like to jump things forward a bit, really. Got the title card and intro for R15F episode 024 nice and sorted, so we should have that in the bag with a relative quickness...which means we'll be...oh gods and fishes...ahead of schedule?! Something down-right 'orrid is about to happen, isn't it?

Wait, what...we're still on vacation? Saa...suppose we ought to get y'all another bite then.

https://youtu.be/yY_GCzEbSoM

So, we've got a second look at Honey Factory by NNP0IS0N as i continue to dig my way out of the mess of levels i couldn't use for R15F. Short story is, it's a nice little, odd little, factory environment with a number of elements that really could have been expanded upon. Fun enough for what we get, but probably could've been more. Still, worth a look if you haven't played it before. Thanks as always for all the support, and i hope y'all are having a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
R15F-S2 episode 024 is done and uploaded, so there's a bit of weight off my shoulders. Actually, a ton of weight, really. i'm not used to being quite this far ahead of schedule, especially with all the time on my hands i have now. Kind of cool, really. There're maybe two more of these second look-style levels ahead. Maybe just one, but i'm on the fence. The LBsP playlist is getting close to 40 again, so, we may have a recap level coming up as well. i guess i'll relax when i'm dead.

Ossu! Coming back at you with (appropriately enough) another quick bite.

https://youtu.be/buTpI0ywawk

This go about we're having a first look (for us, anyways) at A green problem. by bombird. It's a solid bit of gameplay in a really odd environment. You may have seen, or played, this one seeing as it's been up in LBP2 since 2014, but it was the first time for me and i really had a fun time with it. How you will as well. Thanks as always for the support, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
i decided to use one of the remaining lost R15F levels as a backdrop for our recap episode, and the creators of the two left over have other levels we could use for episode 024, so we're back on first impressions for a bit at least. The recap will probably be either tonight or tomorrow, we're at the 40level limit for the lbp.me playlist, so we need to peel a couple of the front end. i think i'll take 10levels, instead of 5, to buy us a bit of time before the next one.

i haven't done any streaming for the last few days, which is fine really, but i had a lot of fun doing it the last time, when someone actually showed up to watch.

Ossu! Got a bit of a housecleaning episode coming up today.

https://youtu.be/2J9ar4Auv3s

Basically we've hit the 40level cap on the LBP.me playlist, so we're pulling the first 10 off. We're using Tiko Island by UNKNOWNBOY123 as a bit of a backdrop. i'm going to plop down all the removed levels' LBP.me links here.

Carnavalia - Zinetix-
Voltaic Ruination - chronos453
A blazing night - BzR242
Mijinko - tamamipu
Easter Village - Muncherization
Wall Dodge - Craftling
Castle of Forgotten Toys - SmithyBlacksmith
Deceitful Delights - cmh95
*Peace* - aiko-ami
The World As We Know It... - Lillianna2nite

So give some of those a play or two and see if they tickle your fancy. Thanks as always for the support, and have a great day!

Ossu! Coming at you with a last bite from our vacation (maybe).

https://youtu.be/JY-hufQfEcc

This go about we're having a look at a bit of old-school with A Paint Job Platformer by nikkizumas. Long story short, it's a straight-forward, but still very fun LBP1 platformer. Very nostalgic in some aspects, and not broken at all in LBP3, so give it a look, you'll probably have a good time with it. Thanks as always for the support and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
It was kind of fun doing an episode a day here, though i don't think i could keep that pace forever. There may be another one tomorrow, but i can't make any promises, because the day is kind of in flux at the moment. Come June...well, we may have more time on our hands for production, but i'm not sure really what's going on there.

It would be nice if Sumo, and/or StevenI would quit snagging levels i'm going to be looking at for Level of the Day. i mean, like, if they could just wait until after the episode was out...

This go about on the roundabout we're taking a look at Robot Trash by Gio-AS-97. We'd taken a look at Gio's The Factory way back in Roughly 15 Minutes Fresh season one episode 003, and i'd long wanted to get back and play some of Gio's other levels. Long story short, this one's really fun, and i'm glad i got to it. Thanks as always for all the support and feedback and have a great day!

R15F-S2 episode 025 is all done but for the PiPs, and it's only Monday yet. Let's try to keep up this pace, yes?

Also, speaking of Monday, i think mdkd99's new series should be starting today? So if you can, pop your peepers on that.

Ossu! Gotta a kinda sorta new episode comin' at ya!

https://youtu.be/pOOD9K0nDMk

Basically, it's just a notice about the R15F-S2 bonus episode(026+). We do use Secret in the savannah by will26571 as a backdrop. We're going to be running the livestream on June 2nd 8pm, JTime. That puts it at 1pm in Germany, 12p in England, 7a for the East Coast of the US, 4a for Arizona, and 9p for Australia. US folks, i am so sorry the time is such garbage, but it's the only time i can get to it. Basically, life is going to be...interesting for a little bit on my end of things.

O-hisa! Long time no reviews, strangely enough, but we've got another quick bite coming your way.

https://youtu.be/kzdE1Wr1J9M

This go around we're having a look at Lez Play (1)(Horror) by superboy-justin. It's a touch over-dark, and could stand to be deco'ed up a bit, but at the end of the day i had a good enough time with it. Hope you will as well, just crank up your gamma all the way first.
Thanks as always for all the support, and have yourselves a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Well, got all the principal recording finished and edited together for episode 029, so that's cool. That means i'll probably be spending most of tomorrow doing PiPs for that and epsiode 028, but i'm still pretty well ahead all things considered. One odd little thing, but i noticed the clock in the hub wasn't keeping correct time. It was running too slow. Now, this came up before when we did that bottom of the ocean hub last year. i wonder if the busy-ness of the hub was making the logic go sideways? Something to keep in the back of my mind, i suppose.

Oh, hey...check out that level of the day! Yeah, it's stolen. Off the same poor creator (Sacred-Mi) who had their Islands level stolen for a LotD last week. i noticed the theft when i was doing some poking about into the Islands one, left a comment and review pointing out the theft (which were, 'natch, deleted by the "creator"). And then StevenI comes around and gives them the nod. *sigh* i did contact him (via Twitter for what it's worth), we'll see if anything comes of it.

Ossu! Finally getting out a quick one for y'all to nibble on!

https://youtu.be/JtKTQw4VTE0

This go about we're taking a look at The Well by TheAliklumKnight. i'd been wanting to take another look at their work since we looked at The Township of Malgamor way back in episode 026 of the first season of R15F. The too long didn't watch here is that this is a much more accessible level as far as gameplay...though you may find yourself a touch lost with regards to the story. Still it's pretty neat, and well-worth at least a once over. Thanks as always for all the support, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
This was supposed to be the how-to/R15F production time episode, and it was supposed to come out yesterday. Then i decided maybe it wouldn't be so good to have an episode full of spoilers for something i hadn't put up yet. So i decided to start putting this together...but before i could wrap it, i fell asleep early. So...yeah, i could've done the episode i'd had in mind anyway.

https://youtu.be/op0hzEkKKGI

We decided to kit this one up in an attempt to answer mdkd's question back in the livestream, about how long an R15F episode takes to put together. Tracking the time to put together doesn't give us a reliable average, but it's better than guessing. Anyhoot, if you've an interest in what goes into an episode, we present for your perusal.

This time we're having a look at SIMPLE AND FUN by Smurfetta5683. The short version is it's a fun first creation from out of LBP2. The creator did show some improvement in later levels they made, though it seems they've stopped playing for some time now. Still, it's fun enough, and short enough to warrant a quick play. As always, thanks for all the support, and i hope you have a great day!

https://youtu.be/LqgP8vuI1cg

This time we're having a look at -Davinci's New Hideout- by Nesh1515. Long story short, it's a fair amount of fun, and feels like a jump forward in design from Busy City, that we looked at back in R15F-S1 Episode 004. Hopefully it'll look like something you might want to give a try. Thanks as always for the support and feedback and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
We've got levels recorded for episode 036 (R15F-s2), and the early hub set-up so that's nice. We're pretty well sorted with Isaac as well, so good enough there. Yeah, kind of back on track?

We wrapped up Gravity Rush 2 on Saturday, which was a little unexpected, but turned out to be a lot of fun. i'm going to need to chew on it for a little bit before i decide just how i feel about the game, might do a special wrap-up/takeaway episode this week, though i'm not 100% on that right yet. A few new faces have been turning up on and off the past couple of streams, which is really cool. Since we wrapped the main game up, we're going to move Isaac and Gungeon back up into the Thursday/Saturday slots, and maybe run LBP3 community levels in the Friday/Sunday bonus slots; my queue is stupid long right now.

This go about we're looking at Of Mice and Moon Cheese by amblaze. It's a solid example of LBP1 era design, both in gameplay and presentation. Which means it can be a little clunky at times, but the fun and charm elevate it. Although it's been played by 19,644 folks, and you might be among their number, it's still worth giving a quick spin (again?).

Thanks, as always, for the support, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Every now and then i get a hankering to play some really old levels on the show, and here we are. i find it amusing they list the level as "long," seeing as it's only about 5minutes max, and you can probably get it down well lower if you play with a bit of skill. Maybe that was just what we all thought was long at the time.

A double dose in one day? Seems like it.

https://youtu.be/osmqqabMQ7Q

This is just a quick lbp.me playlist cleaner-upper, since we've hit 40 levels again. Though...actually a couple of levels have been taken down, but the playlist software considers them still up, so i can't put any more levels in it even though there're only like 38 in there for realsies. Anyhow, here's the list:

Circuitree - KomodoBrothers
Fire of Terror - A-tony-MONTANA
SPY RUSHER - Xx-53Luffy53-xX
-survive! brain- - xo_2136_ut_771
Over There and Back Here Again - scuzzy1973
Cranium Cadoo - FlammableWhale
Fisherman's Village - Addictex
Proxima B4 - ONOR67
DONT FORGET LBP1 - NICE-PLAYEUR
PENTA - Creat1ve-Gen1u5-

They'll stay on the lbp.me playlist until the next episode of LBsP when i strip the lot off. But at least you've got them in one handy place here now. Thanks always for all the support folks, hope you have an excellent day!

This time we're having a go at Sandbar sprint by pdfusilamiento. The short version is, it's a pretty nicely handling driver (racer?), with, unfortunately, not a lot of meat on its bones. It's nice enough for what it is, and isn't a bad choice for a short experience. If you're looking for something that'll test your driving skills a bit more, though, you might walk away from this one disappointed.

Thanks as always for the support and feedback, folks, and have a great day!

R15F-S2 is wrapped but for the PiPs, and that's nice (still off-schedule, but nice).

This go about we're taking a look at Caverns of the Lost by LittleBigDes. It's a really keen little slice of LBP2-era level design. The movie last night was awesome, and if you have the chance, you should definitely go see it in the theatres.

My books arrived, though i haven't had the time to dig into them yet. Just from a quick leaf through, though, it seems that none of the old adept schools are outlined in this edition. That might be addressed and i haven't seen it yet, but i really wanted to see how the Videomancers were going to fare with the advent of things like YouTube and streaming.

Ossu! Just a quick video on the new scheduling for LittleBite-sizedPlanet, and where things are going from here.

https://youtu.be/jRId0n1iCHY

The too long/didn't watch of it is we're moving to a twice weekly update schedule from this week. Tuesdays/Fridays is the plan. i know i said 9:30pm in the video, but i'm starting to wonder if 10 might not be a little easier for things like updating the posts in forums. The two scheduled videos will be community-level dedicated, with different types as mid-week bonuses (things like tutorials and the like). i'm thinking of having one of the weekly episodes following the LBsP-style "anything goes" school of level selection, and the other being the more constrained style we used in R15F.

As always, thanks for all the feedback and support, and i hope you have a great day!

This time around we're taking a second look at NorthBury Grove (The Hunt Begins) by Z0LvLL3LE. We had a go at this one on stream awhile back, and i wanted to really get at it here. If you've not played it yet, the intro-movie level NorthBury Grove (The Horror) should be gone through first for context. Thanks as always for all the support and feedback folks. Hope you have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
i actually have new curtains now, so i can record in the day and still see the laptop screen. This is a nice step up.

Quick heads up, but this just happened with an episode i put together today. So...my video got flagged for a copyright violation (which is a pretty constant occurrence with LBP3, to be honest), but instead of just the usual "this video can't be monetized/ads may play ahead of it for the copyright holder's benefit" notice i usually get, this time it was "this video may not be viewable in some countries." Now the ding was for "Mr. Sandman." i don't know if the holders have gotten more aggressive, or if YouTube is getting more cautious, or what, but if you can't watch episode 085, that'll be the reason why. See? i've always maintained that song was evil.

Ossu! Back again with a little bite!

https://youtu.be/x2whtcwQnEU

This go about we're taking a look at The Cardboard Adventure! by echostar3. The too long/didn't watch is it's...got some nice touches in character design, but it's a bit slow going due to a lack in the variety of gameplay. Still, give it a look, yeah? The creator is looking to improve, and more eyes on their work could help.
Thanks as always for the support and feedback, and i hope you have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
i managed to screw up the calendar in this one, i'm so used to a every Friday update schedule everytime i need to change the date, i want to cycle it forward a full week.

This does nothing to explain how i screwed up the calendar on Friday's episode, mind you.

i find myself continuing to get wrapped up putting together hubs, even though they'll only be on screen for like, what, 7minutes max? It's fun though, so *shrug* whatever i suppose.

Missed the stream on Sunday because my body just decided it would be...sick? i put up something about it on Twitter, but basically i woke up (again) feeling like hell, and it was very akin to being hungover...which is completely unfair! Was shagged out and just dragging myself through the day. Like not even enough muscle control to actually be able to sustain a smile, even a fakey one, which is kind of a necessity for what i do. At any rate, it would have made for a crap stream. We'll definitely have an LBP3 stream Friday, though.

Vacation's coming up, i have no plans, but i'm tossing together a backlog so i don't have to do much production work. Maybe i'll take a trip or something.

You ever have one of those things aggravating the living heck out of you, but you've really got no one you can talk to about it? Yeah, i got that thing going.

Ossu! Here we are and back for another bite!

https://youtu.be/IV-WqsJbBns

This time around we're having a look at D???_DISTORTION//N_20062018 by Chronos453. It's a bit of an odd-duck, a nice demo for a solid sidescrolling space-ship shooter tucked away in the recesses of Chronos' Chapter Zero (which is where that link above goes, by the by). It's worth the effort of uncovering, and is a good appetizer for what should be a great full level. Give it a look-see and drop Chronos some feedback, yeah?
Thanks, as always, for all the support, and i hope you have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
So, i woke up yesterday feeling crap again, powered through the stream (and had a good time playing) but i feel like i was probably a little more flat than usual. Sorry about that Cult Master Monacle!

Now, tonight's LBP3 stream. Ah hah, hah hah, ho ho ho... so the game crashed, twice. Corrupting my profile both times. Luckily my PS+ cloud save kept me from losing all the sets and costumes and stickers i've made over the last few years, but i was pretty salty, let me tell you. Doubly so because, condition-wise, i was feeling pretty good, and was having some fun with the stream.

To leave on a positive note, i picked up an external hard-drive like i've been meaning to do for about ever. i don't know if it's because i'm recording on to that instead of to my laptop, or if it's because after i shifted all my LBP videos over to it, i could clear them off or what, but there's a noticeable uptick in quality (visual quality, that is) of my Isaac videos. Fewer jerkiness and dropped frames. i should've done this well back, really.

And we're back again with a bit of a cookie for Santa!

https://youtu.be/a6-7tLPiygg

This go about we're having a look at Sackboys Christmas Special by srf09. The too long/didn't watch is it's a pretty, well...unambitious, yet still charming Christmas/Winter-themed platformer. Nothing that'll set your world on fire, but still worth the couple of minutes to play. As a note, this one might not play in some countries, so if it's blocked for you, let me know; i'm really interested in how that hashes out.
Thanks as always for all the feedback and support, and whatever flavour of holiday you're into i hope the best for you and yours.

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Saw Hereditary last night. It took its sweet time coming 'round to Japan. i liked it well-enough, the bait-and-switch leans pretty heavily on the ambiguity of some tropes, but i think it works for all that. The non-supernatural side of it, though, It really knocked it out of the park.

i'm backlogged almost into February with Isaac, because i frankly can't think of what else to do with my time.

Oh hai...it's Friday, isn't it? Crumbs...umm...right, our bite-sized update post is only...2hours late.

https://youtu.be/7SM-WnByo9o

Anywho, this time we're having a look at Brrr-oom Town by gary_WBA. The too long/didn't watch is this one's an oldy-but-goody palette-swap of Boom Town from LBP1. Your enjoyment will be strongly predicated on your enjoyment of that level, but i found it charming enough. It's had a lot of plays in its lifetime, it got tossed up on the Winter Wonderland list as well, but give it a run-through if you haven't already.

Thanks as always for all the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
i really need to get used to the update posts being at night instead of the morning, don't i?

We've got another A Hat In Time stream coming up tomorrow (tonight? It is after midnight, isn't it?) 7.30p, and we'll have an LBP3 one same time Sunday (hopefully this time the game won't crash).

Took a short trip up to Kyoto for the afternoon, mostly to get out of the house. It was nice enough, but i've been there a bajillion times already, so i just kicked around some of the geek shops in the Kawaramachi shopping area. Picked up a special artbook for Splatoon2, and another for Nihei Tsutomu's BLAME!. i'm a sucker for concept art. Also saw a world-guide for Nier: Automata, but two chunky tomes is about the limit for a unnecessary shopping trip.

Ossu! First bite of the New Year!

https://youtu.be/1pikhex3A-g

This go about we're looking at SpaceShip 754 by B2-Evans. The too long/didn't watch is it's a decent platformer presented well-enough, though perhaps slightly without cohesion. Still it was a fun one, and worth a couple of plays at least.
As always, thanks for all the feedback and support, and i wish you all a fine Year of the Pig!

Behind the Curtians Stuffs
So...New Year's Eve. Apparently 2018 wanted to get one last little kick in the teeth in. i walked down to my local, not really intending to drink, but just wanting to pass over into 2019 around people i knew in a place i liked. Yeah. Well, the local went and closed down. A month ago, according to the old dodger who was in the hall while i was trying to parse the mystery of the closed-door-bills-and-fliers-stuffed-in-the-crack. i'd hoped maybe it was just on vacation for the holidays. Though i guess i kind of had an inkling at first sight.

i'd had no idea, had been out of the loop for...well...for awhile, really. i was deeply, deeply disappointed. One of my 2019 goals was getting back to and involved more with the community of local weirdos, and now it's gone and scattered. Well, i follow a couple of folks on Twitter, and i know some of the tattoo and/or piercing shops where acquaintances work, i suppose it'S time to make the rounds and see what things look like.
i suppose i can't complain too much, since i'd been self-walled-off the last few months in particular. Still, it was nice to know there was a place i was comfortable at here. Even if i hadn't been going there so often.
So, i ended up having a few beers in Triangle Park. There weren't all that many folks out on the streets, which was odd for the neighbourhood. A couple of clubs were running events, but i've never been much of a clubber. i did look around to see if there was a Black Veil event going on, since a lot of the folks i know would have probably washed up there. Couldn't find one, which would make it the first New Years in 15yrs without. Signs and portents.
The drinking was disappointing, by the way. Which, in a sense, is a good thing. i didn't finish thinking i'd really like to take up the habit again.

Ossu! A quick Friday bite here!

https://youtu.be/Ur-Ri_l0aK4

This time we're looking at The Pirates Castle by MofoSuperVillain. The too long/didn't watch is it's a fun little piece of LBP1-era platformery that shows some very clear roots to Mofo's creation style. Which is pretty interesting, since most of their (and their sub-account's) levels are no longer up for play. So...that's a thing. At any rate, give it a play and see what you think.
Thanks as always for the support, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
So... my streams are cursed? We had the game crash/profile corruption thing on LBP3 a couple of weeks back. The servers crashed (or, more precisely, i lost my connection to the servers) during the "A Hat in Time" stream yesterday. Now, during the Isaac bonus stream today we had a game crash, and then 30minutes later a connection drop-out.
This really burns my bacon. i hate saying that i'll do a thing, and then not actually be able to do that thing. i'm not sure what i can really do to resolve the issue on my end. i don't know if it's a PS thing, or a YouTube thing, or a my wifi-router thing. Would it help if i moved things to Twitch? No idea folks. i'll see what i can figure out, but for the nonce, i'm really sorry, yeah?

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Work is work, it's about as bad as i expected, but not as bad as i dreaded.

On Chronos453's recommendation i've been watching Madoka Magika. i've been really enjoying it, and my enjoyment has grown by episode (though i've only finished episode 4 as yet). i do think it leans in on the foreshadowing a little hard, but that might just be coming to it late with osmotic knowledge from other places. Strangely for a Jside anime on Jside Netfilx, but it actually has both full English subtitling and dialogue options. i'm going with just the subtitling, because i do need the listening practice, but even just having that available is rare as hen's teeth.
Funny (?) story, but i'd only ever seen, or perhaps it would be better to say noticed, the name written in romaji, in discussions on English language message boards. i'd always assumed the "gi" in Magika was pronounced like it is in magic, which would yield a bit of a pun, as "majika" is a bit of a slangy "Really?!" or "No way!" in Japanese. i was pretty disappointed seeing the title card done in hiragana, and the gi being, actually, "gi" (?). A bit of a wasted opportunity, there.

This go about we're having a look at Forests & Caves by ItsWashington17. Still, it's always cool to see folks trying new things out, and hopefully this will be one more step on ItsWashington17's creator's road.

This go about we're having a look at Sky Kingdom by KoolKat220. The too long/didn't watch is...LBP3 really doesn't like LBP2's lighting. The level's a bit gameplay light, but it's pretty nice looking...in LBP2 at least. It gets really washed-out in LBP3, which is a shame, because there's some really nice sticker work going on here. Still, it's worth a few plays for sure, and i had a good enough time with it.

Thanks as always for all the feedback and support, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
We're writing this up at 11am, since i know getting back from work later will throw everything off timing-wise.

Put in the pre-order for Biohazard 2(updated, super-triple-double remastered version). i'm getting it off the US store, just so i have the uncensored version. Which probably doesn't really mean all that much in the long run, but...i'd rather play the game that was made, rather than the game that was chopped down to fit the law? Thing is, the US PSN lists a release date of Jan. 25...but Jan 25 in the US is the 26th here in Japan? i'm hoping it will drop on my 25th, since that means we'll be able to have it on a Friday bonus stream, and that would be cool.

i want to lodge here, in case i haven't mentioned it before, High School of the Dead is really, really bad. i mean, i'm kind of embarrassed watching it.

This go about we're having a look at Polarity by skilletfan5383. The too long/didn't watch is it's a pretty neat gimmick platformer that could probably stand a little expansion, but still manages to be awful fun. It hasn't gotten a whole lot of heat yet, so give it a few goes and see what you think. i liked it a lot.
Thanks as always for all the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Hey'alls coming up with another late-night bite here!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsIjw8Hs-Uk

This go about we're having a lark with Natural Sky by chaosgear. The too long/didn't watch is it's a pretty nice looking, mostly fun LBP2 platformer that's unfortunately tethered to a kind of dull, overlong shooting minigame. It's fun enough for a play, but i think you may get more mileage out of some of the creator's other levels, some of them are a real good time.

Thanks as always for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
i seem to be past the worst of the lurgy, but it's like every time i get sick these days it lasts a little longer than the previous. Saturday night and Sunday night were both one of those "i think this might be a fever, i can't stop sweating, but if i take the blankets off, i'm freezing" things, last night, i don't know if it was from recovery or just plain exhaustion, but i mostly slept like the dead. The cough is back to a dry, ratcheting hack (normal for a heavy smoker in Winter) from bringing up a gallon of fluid of some nebulous and dark provenance (that's probably, actually, sick, right?). Not to dwell overlong on gross health stuff, but i think i am actually, physically on the mend.

As an addendum to the above, i spend most of Sunday night in the grip of some LBP-inspired fever dream. i was playing some level, i don't know if it was for the show or a stream (i guess maybe a stream, because i "played" way more than three minutes) and it was...it was platonically, fractally bad. Like, not just stuff and a scoreboard. Like, it was this massive, sprawling, incoherent mess with about a dozen different, area- or time-triggered abilities given to sack thing. There were poorly presented puzzles, and completely unnecessary secrets. Everything so sloppily kludged together, with some areas being over-lush in decoration, and others almost totally devoid. i was doing my level-best to put the best face on it, and it was just defeating me utterly. The whole thing was tinged through with performance-anxiety.

The weird thing was, eventually i half-woke enough to realize the whole thing was just a dream, and still my mind just would not let it go. It just kept rounding back on parts i remembered, trying to pick it apart and figure out just what the hell the creator was intending (leaving aside the point that in this context, i guess, i was the creator. i mean, it was my dream). i'm sure there's some simple interpretation here, but...i'd have just have been happier with some, nice, simple dream, like where i'm trying to rescue a snake from zombie armadillos.

Alright then, back for a Friday night nibble!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8UqC0D_72Y

This go about we're looking at The Greatest Cake by warbyte01. The too long/didn't watch is...it's ok, i guess. To be 100% honest, i recorded the episode last week, and without looking at my notes, i couldn't really tell you much about it now. i remember thinking the flow was kind of janky for a race level, and the presentation was...mostly coherent? Y'all give it a look and see what you think?

Thanks as always for the support and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Well, some things that needed resolving have kind of been resolved, and it's a load off my mind, so there's that.

Spent today trying to get a bunch of LBsP episodes recorded, so i could spend some extra time next week looking at Chronos's tower defense level (i'm not super-fluent in the genre, so i figure it'll take a bit to put together enough to really put it on display). In the course of that i had something like four or five game crashes, all with profile corruptions, which just added useless time to things (since i'd have to go through the hub set-ups all over again). Got two episodes squared away (except for the PiPs, which are their own issue, but can be done more at my leisure). The third crashed right before recording the take-away, without time to get it done before the Biohazard2 stream.

Carped about it on Twitter, and actually got a reply from LBP telling me to delete my smaller User Data file, which i did...it seems like i've reset the game? Got the unskippable starting cut-scene at least...though all my costumes and stickers still seem to be intact?

Biohazard2, by the way, is tough...and tense...and tough. V. different in feel from 6. Thanks for dropping in and keeping us on an even keel Chronos!

Ossu! Back at ya with another quick nibble!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCbuRCHDLoI

This go about we're having a look at Forgotten Space Station by ScooterMix. The too long/didn't watch is it's a fun enough Oddsock racer that's muddled by ScooterMix's over-crufted presentation style. Fun enough for a go through, but probably could stand a little more polish. Give it a play, though, eh?

Thanks, as always, for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Been having a ball with the RE(make) 2 streams. It still surprises me how closely they chose to hew to the original design philosophy. Yes, zombies are dangerous, yes Lickers are dangerous, yes everything is dangerous. It's been hard not to just play on my sub-account, but i really want to keep everything fresh for the stream. Just two more days and we can play again. i find myself wondering how far we've made it through. If i remember correctly the progression was city>police station>sewer>underground lab and out? So we're...halfway, maybe?

Since the Dreams NDA got lifted (right quick that) i've had a tonne of Dreams-stuff showing up in my Twitter Timeline. It looks so good.

i really need to get some curry in me, so let's cut this here.

Ossu! Friday night bite time? Why, yes, yes it is.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ho81HlduxNs

This go about we're looking at Dreamiverse Dash by Super-Fantastic. The too long/didn't watch is it's a fun enough, visually nice race with a cute custom characterthat unfortunately needs a couple of rough edges dealt with to be something really special. Still, it's quick enough for a couple of plays, and it's worth about that much, i'd say.

Thanks as always for the support and feedback, and i hope y'all have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Tonight's bonus stream was supposed to be LBP3...but i really want to get back into RE(make) 2, so i'm going with that. Actually writing this in advance, since the stream usually wraps around the time the episode goes live. i wonder how far we got. It was pretty dicey yesterday, so i'm not pinning my hopes too high. i'm actually starting to wonder if it's possible to stuff the game up so hard it actually becomes uncomplete-able. We've had some really close shaves, and we've needed to burn through resources pretty hard.

Ossu! Late posting, but we've got a bit of a bigger bite on the plate today!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajzy4cDaeRw

This time we're having a bit of a longer look at Supercharged Tower Defense by chronos453. Chronos had asked us in stream awhile back to have a go at it, but it seemed big and chunky and something that needed a little extra time devoted to it. The episode is longer than usual on account of my playing (not very well, i imagine) the first 25 waves of the first map. The too long/didn't watch is it's a really good game. i've got no background with the tower defense genre, so i can't really do a comparison, but i know i had a really good time with this one. It felt like i was actually playing a completely different game, not something kitted together in LBP3, and that's a rare experience for me. There are a lot of plays on this one, but if one of those isn't yours, then i definitely recommend giving this a go. Just keep in mind you're probably looking at 30-50minutes on a map.

Thanks as always for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
So, late post is late on account of my going to a Sayonara Party last night. It was fun, though weird to be the oldest person in the room (maybe the second oldest, but T. left early). i can now say definitively that Hooters is pretty much a garbage-city restaurant, so...that's...good? It wasn't my choice. About half of us went out to karaoke after and it'd been quite a while for me, was nice that i could still belt out a couple of songs with half-decency. Now, waking up feeling kind of trash is something i could do without, but...eh, once every now and then isn't so bad?

i realized shortly after the stream on Saturday that we'd missed the completely obvious "look at this item you just picked up, it has the code on it." They've even done that a few times in the game already, i guess i just fell out of the habit of checking. Saa...after work streams are always kind of dodgy, because there's no guarantee the brainmeats will be functional. Still, i kind of feel sorry for not being able to think around the problem.

Ossu! We've got another (shorter) nibble coming up!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVK_dz4zkgY

This go about we're taking a look at Sands of Egypt by SrFreeze. The too long/didn't watch is, this one is really really good. Especially once you get past the bit we got stuck on in the video. This one's picked up a fair amount of heat since i did the recording, which is one of the downsides of keeping a couple episode backlog. This is also the only time we'll see this particular hub, since i did this recording on the day of a million profile corruptions. i kind of like how it turned out though.

Thanks as always for all the support and feedback, and i hope you have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Getting this typed up early again so i can just hit post once i get back from work. Kind of cheesed i have to do the Twitter updates manually now, but that's ok.

Tuesday continues to be busiest, most pseudo-adulting day. Got the groceries shopped, laundry done, super-soup done (this week's menu is super-soup). Also got LBsP-099 wrapped, well except for the PiPs. The level turned out to be well chunkier than i'd expected, so i didn't get my Isaac episodes recorded. Luckily we've got round about a month of backlog on those.

Ossu! Back again for a Friday Night Bite!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7gQ3RON8iI

This go about we're having a look at Ascension by Precipite2. The too long/didn't watch is it's a bit confusing for something so starkly presented. i like the concept for it, but...it needs a little more development, and maybe some expansion as well.
Since this brings the playlist to 40levels, we'll have a clean-up episode coming up on Sunday so we can peel off the front 10. That's already done and ready to go, so that's good.

Thanks as always for all the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
We wrapped the Leon A-side of Biohazard 2 Remake yesterday. Aside from a bit of an annoying puzzle, it went...mostly well. The end was a bit of an anti-climax, but really it's just the half-way point of the game. Started Claire's B-side today and had a lot of fun with it. Lost the server again, but at least it was at the 2hour point (well, almost).

After yesterday's stream i noticed if i really shucked my buns i could make it in time to see the Suspiria remake, so i did that. It was actually pretty good. Well, the parts i could understand, at least. There's a fair amount of German in the film (makes sense as it's set in 1971 Germany), and i couldn't quite keep up with the Japanese subtitles. i wouldn't mind seeing it again, though. i'll have to wait until it's on BluRay and have it sent over. That or really up my game when it comes to reading comprehension.

We got LBsP episodes 098b (the playlist clean-up one) and 099 wrapped and uploaded. 100's half-finished, still need to record the takeaway and do the PiPs. Should have gotten it done today, but after the movie i stopped for a couple at my local, and then went out for pizza after, and since i walked down to the theatre by the time i got home it was...1am-ish? Woke up this morning feeling crummy and shagged out (that what i get for drinking like i used to, after cutting back so hard). Wasn't really hung-over, but just...no energy? Ended up sleeping for most of the day. Kind of kicking myself over it now, but *shrug* At least i was feeling normal and genki by the afternoon.

Ossu! Late bite is late because i went to see Aquaman. Sorry!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50cEmoSCERA

Anyhow this go about we're clearing the front ten levels off the lbp.me playlist and giving them a last shout out.

There're some fun ones in there, some...well...mediocre ones in there too. Still, nothing i would say is completely without worth or redemption. Pick out a handful (or the whole lot) and give 'em a run and see what you think.

As always, thanks for all the feedback and support, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
By needs this will be short, because i really need to get some sleep. Just got home, and tomorrow is an early shift.

Superficially Aquaman is a fun spectacle super-hero film that still managed to feel pretty hollow in its message, and ultimately left me pretty disappointed. Still, having tea with Cthulhu, and Willam Defoe. You can't really complain too much about that.

Ossu! Got the Tuesday night bite here! On time too!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfyMgWGE-xU

This go about we're having a look at Deep down facility by markybarlow. The too long/didn't watch is it's a pretty keen iCandy platformer with an unfortunately obtuse early bit. Still if you can get past that, there are some neat gameplay elements here, and an awful lot of decoration (which may, unfortunately, cause slowdown issues). Give it a look, but be warned, you're looking at somewhere around 25minutes to clear.

Thanks, as always, for all the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Episode 100 is uploaded, and 101 is ready to go up as well; just didn't have enough time to get it in before work today. Kind of a milestone, it feels like (disregard the fact that between season one and two of R15F we have 104+ episodes, ne?). i was kicking around the idea of making some simple platform level to celebrate, and then life intervened.

Now, to have some Pumpkin Keema Curry. i am so hungry.

Ossu! Got another bite coming at you!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdY_MQ64cwI

This go about we're having a look at Rusty Metal by MajorMaximusLBP. The too long/didn't watch is it's a lot of fun, particularly once you get that it's not just trying to ape Portal. Some neat power-up puzzles, a nice (if slightly dim) look. It's a good 'un, so give it a go, yeah?

Thanks as always for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
So, this is (kind of) episode 100, eh? Been knocking these out for a year and eight months now, and there's a lot that's gone on between then and now to be sure. It seems a bit weird, really. It's not a nice, even chunk of time, and it's not really 100episodes, since we've had b-sides and the like. Still, it is kind of special. So, i put together a kick little 100b that'll go up on Sunday. It's been a trip, y'all, and my thanks to all of you for pushing me along this long.

Typing this up a little early so i can just hit post after tonight's stream. We're nearing the end of the Biohazard stuffs, i think maybe two or three more streams should handle it? It's been a hoot, and i've been well-impressed with how Capcom's handled everything. i don't know if we'll do a little with the 4th Survivor mode or not. On one hand, it's supposed to be really, really short all-told. On the other, it's supposed to be really, really hard, requiring a lot of do-overs, and that might not be that fun to do in front of an audience, or for the audience to watch for that matter.

This one's just a little B-side for the 100th(ish) episode. Not much beyond chatter, but at least a chance to give y'all thanks for all the support so far, so, thanks yeah?

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Wrapped the Biohazard 2 Remake streams yesterday and had a lot of fun with them. We'll be going back to short-form games for the rest of the month, and i'll try to come up with the next long-form for March. If there's something y'all'd like to see, let me know, eh?

This go about we're having a look at Super Sack Bros: World 2-8 Morton's Castle by TheWretched22. The too long/didn't watch is...umm...well...ah, you see...look, it's level-shaped! Yes! That's certainly a thing that it is!

Thanks as always for all the support and feed back, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Honeybunny (for those late to the party, Honeybunny's me ex-wife) was in town for a bit, and spent a few days at the homestead. It was...bittersweet, which i'll not get much into here. The practical downside is i didn't get any recording done. Thanks to the amazing power of backlogs, this isn't a big-huge problem. It does mean that tomorrow is going to be an all-recording-all-the-time day.

Which is OK! Since the company has decided to send me to garbage schools on Wednesday's recently, i've decided to take as many Wednesdays off as paid-holidays as i can. That's a thing i can do. Though i should probably use the time to be looking for a job at a different company.

Ossu! Got another quick, late-night bite comin' up!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2PK8Gm6GNw

This go about we're having a look at Temple of Darkness by Marncore. The too long/didn't watch is...i think it's broken? i don't know how, i mean, people have completed it...but...i spent a lot of time looking for some trigger or something we didn't catch, and, i never found the darn thing. A bit of a shame, that, as it's pretty rare to get a level that uses the Illuminator power-up. Still, give it a play and let me know what i missed, i'm more than happy to do a B-side retraction/re-evaluation video.

Thanks, as always, for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Tonight's stream was a real good one, so that was cool. The game didn't crash once, though i'll forever be antsy with over-long loading screens from now on, i think. Got to meet someone new, and check out their levels, and that is always nice.

i did get to Battle Angle Alita last night and had a good time with it for the most part. The movie's gorgeous, which has the unfortunate side-effect of pretty well undercutting one of the character's main motivations, but that's forgivable. It certainly didn't feel like two hours, which is always nice. There's a lot in there, but it didn't feel over-stuffed, which is certainly a rarity. It's a bit goofy and some of the dialogue was a bit hokey, but hell, i walked away not feeling like i'd wasted money.

March 2nd will start the Yakuza 0 streams. We'll see how well their Dotonbori matches the one i know.

This go about we're having a look at /Strange World/ by Uni_kittyGirl726. The too long/didn't watch is it's a pretty nice looking bit of a level that unfortunately has very little meat on its bones. Uni_kittyGirl's said she'll expand on the concept if there's enough interest, so give it a look and a little bit of love.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2csCI6wlldg

This go about we're having a look at Complex Corps. by acdramon. The too long/didn't watch is it's a nice slice of LBP2 goodness thankfully unbroken in LBP3. The gameplay and environmental design are solid on, though your mileage may vary on the story/level integration. It's a lot of fun, so give it a play!

Thanks as always for all the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Writing this one up early so we can just hit post after the stream.

This was actually a bit of an episode to put together. i follow acdramon on Twitter, and he seems to be a pretty hoopy frood in all regards. Reviewing levels in such a circumstance always feels a bit like threading the needle between honesty and...hrmm...what's the word i want...not politeness, exactly, but being nice isn't quite there either. At any rate, the level actually being quite good (by my own standards, at least) means i got to dodge the bullet again. Wait, that's mixing metaphors, isn't it? Dodging a bullet whilst threading the needle? That's just bad writing, that is.

's been...i dunno. An up and down couple of weeks? Practical upshot is i've got a bunch of manga to read. If i keep up at this rate, i'll probably need another bookshelf by month's end.

For the few of y'all who keep an eye on the Isaac stuffs, spoilers for mid-March, but i finally got all the post-it note unlocks sorted. That includes taking Keeper through the Delirium fight. Also managed to snag both the "It's the Key" and "Zip" unlocks, in the same run no less. That's a stroke of almost stupid good luck. This means i'm...hrmm...well depending on how generous the RNG wants to be...i'm not all that far off from a total file clear. This'll be my...umm...5th time doing so? 6th, maybe? If we're really lucky we'll get it done by episode 175, which is how long my first on-camera 1001% clear took (that was before all the Afterbirth+ DLC). i...really need some help, don't i?

Ossu! Another late night bite for y'all

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qNqxmQvZ8Y

This time we're looking at The Abandoned Cavern by Stepho2012. The too long/didn't watch is it's a really fun bit of LBP2 goodness updated (though, honestly, unnoticeably) to LBP3. i'm looking forward to more from Stepho2012 on their return, since it seems they'd taken a bit of a hiatus from creation. Welcome back Stepho!

Thanks, as always, for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Everything is darkness and delirium, but at least Enter the Spider-verse and Captain Marvel are coming out over here soon, and those are things to look forward too. Also, a nice big pot of pasta sauce. There's that too.

Ossu! Back again for another late-night bite!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EFxNNB_1Zg

This go about we're having a look at Little sunset paradise by Wis910. The too long/didn't watch is it's a pretty neat, sometimes tricky, and sometimes frustrating boost boots platformer. Give it a go, but keep in mind some bits can be tough.

Thanks as always for all the support and feedback, and have a great night!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Working through the Yakuza 0 stuff on stream has been a total ball. Now that we've gotten past the initial cutscene-heavy first chapter and can run about and get into trouble, it's just a joy to play. We clocked 3hours on the last stream, and i hardly even noticed. i do wonder, a little, about what exactly Renga thinks the Yakuza's role in the community is, though. He's such an upstanding do-gooder. i have to imagine an actual Yak would probably extort a cut out of the panty-selling ring instead of shutting it down for the girls' protection.

Finally got to see Enter the Spiderverse, and it did live up to the hype, which was nice. Gorgeous looking, amazing soundtrack, goofy multi-verse story that fit the comic book tone better than a lot of the standard MCU movies do. Wish we'd gotten a bit more of Noir-Spiderman and Peni Parker, though.

So...there's been some stuff going on in life at the moment. i put together a video. It's kind of tangential to the series, but still, i guess it goes in the "Behind the Curtains Stuffs" category.

This time about it's a little bit different. We're taking an early look at No More Jumps 2! BETA TEST by Wheelslide. The too long/didn't watch is...it's not finished yet, but seems to have potential to be something pretty solid. Once it's completely wrapped and published, we'll do another B-side Second Look episode, and update all the links and what not. In the mean time, take a stroll through their No More Jumps!, which is mostly solid, though i do think giving the players boost boots for some parts is kind of a cheat.

Thanks, as always, for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
i should have really written this up this morning, but i was kind of in a rush. At least i got all of next Tueday's episode done, except for the PiPs. Also, got a nice pot of curry all together and set.

This go about we're having a look at Imagine by HostileBunny16. The too long/didn't watch is...it's an interesting one. i think i liked it more for the concept than the actual execution. Though, to be fair, i've no seen a level that quite tried to do this. Still, give it a look and see what you think. Bring some friends.

Thanks, as always, for all the support and feedback, and i hope you have a great day.

i wanted to do a Behind the Curtains about a lot of stuff. But then the Christchurch Mosque shooting happened, and i just kind of want to turn the world off for a couple of days. Sometimes, but really, to hell with this world and then some.

This go about we're having a look at Return to the Islands by coldk50. The too long/didn't watch is...it's not quite good. Part of the problem being that they tell us there's no 3d movement, when there absolutely is, and that can cause a lot of issues where you think something will happen, and then it doesn't. It's got a good look to it, and the music is keen, but...it needs a fair amount of work.

Thanks as always for all the support and feedback, and have a great day!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnRbYKg3KPk

This go about we're having a look at Factory of Acid by understory1278. The too long/didn't watch is this is a decent enough second level as far as things go. the environment is pretty cohesive, which is nice, though i think it could use a few more passes of decoration. Gameplay is a bit on the simple side of things, nothing that'll cause too much trouble. The cameras could probably stand a bit of tweaking, but really there's not a whole lot to complain about (not really a whole lot to praise, either, to be honest). Give it a play, it ought to take about 2minutes or so.

Thanks, as always, for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
This is going up late, 'cause i think i'm going to step out a bit tonight. Went to the movies last night, and stopped in at a bar i'd no been to in years. It was super nice. Everyone was really friendly, and weird, and i just felt really at home. So i'm going to make another pass by this evening.

If anyone's following on the Twitter, i finished off that manga i showed a couple of weeks back. So...i think the moral of the story was...if you have a bed-ridden empress who's maxed out her memory and speed-reading traits, maybe don't give her access to every book you can lay your hands on. It's just that she might bootstrap herself to godhood, and then whoopsie-daisy everyone ends up et. It's a pretty specific moral, probably won't come up in your life all that often, i imagine. Oh! Also, if you wander in the void long enough, you'll end up with dogs growing out of your head. That's probably a more useful guidepost for life. At any rate, the manga's kind of big on body horror, which is a-ok with me.

i keep waiting for the panic of having quit my job to set in. Two weeks on and it's not here yet. Now, on the one hand, not panicking is nice. On the other, i tend to get more done when i am. Hrmm...

The Yakuza 0 stream keeps trucking along and...i'm not sure either of our main characters really have a good grasp on what the Yakuza does. Now, game-qua-game this isn't really an issue, as it's fun and i've been having a blast, also, i don't think i'd really want to play a full-on-Donkey-Kong Yak...those guys are real jerks. Still, it does make it hard for the character beats in the story to really land for me.

ROBOT TRASH by Gio-AS-97
Lez Play [1] by superboy-justin

Hopefully there're a couple in there that catch your eye, but give 'em a bit of love, yeah?

Thanks, as always, for all the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Being, generally speaking, meatspace-asocial, i tend to forget what it's like being around new people who are actually friendly and inviting. It's...nice, but disorienting. Turns out the...i think he's the bar master (though, perhaps not the owner?) is a big US comics geek. He's got particular love for Hellboy. i feel like i should bring around my Scud: Disposable Assassin and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac collections. i'm just worried that it'd be rude, cause i'm not sure how well he reads English (interestingly, the main Hellboy series is fully translated over here). Also, the bartender has the pinkest hair i've ever seen on a human, it's really quite lovely.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Osq8w8HcM-4

This go about we're having a look at Madness is a place by sayuri357. The too long/didn't watch is, i really liked it. A relatively straight-forward slice of LBP2 goodness gussied up with some nice presentation and environmental design. Not without its flaws, but all-around well-done in the end. Give it a little love, since it appears to not have gotten the attention it deserved when it was first published.

Thanks, as always for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
This one's going to be posted late, again, as i'm heading out for the movies tonight, again. Was a bit on the fence, since i've seen Shawn of the Dead more than a few times (though, probably fewer times than Hot Fuzz), but i've never had the chance to see it on the big screen. Now...why it's getting a second screening now, and in Japan of all places, i couldn't say, but still...it's a bit hard to resist. Prolly stop by the new local for one or two after...since the movie doesn't start until 9p...well, posted late means the post'll most likely be up tomorrow...in the most technical sense. Then again, in uni we used to say it wasn't actually tomorrow 'fore you'd slept.

Also...Dreams early access is April 16th? Bugger and sin.

This go about we're putting our peepers on The Factory has Eyes by Pitta_Brad. The too long/didn't watch is...well, it has a nice look, and the gameplay isn't bad, but it is so very short. It could, and probably will be bulked out into something more substantial, but for the moment it's hardly an appetizer. Still, it's not bad for all that, so give it a play, yeah?

Thanks, as always, for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
Had a particularly bad crash during the Sunday night LBP3 bonus stream, full corruption and everything. Looks like the back-up files were recent enough that we didn't lose much, but still... i suppose the timing was appropriate enough.

Also managed to beat one of the maps on Chronos453's Tower Defense level, and that felt pretty good.

Also also found out that Risk of Rain 2 is out and i really want to pick it up, early access or no. Why is there so much good stuff coming out right now? i'll have the time, but...i'm not particularly made of money at the mo'.

Finished my last day at my main school today. It was...i dunno, the whole experience has kind of been second-hand feeling. i mean, the last month, i've still had to go about the usual routine, and it makes the incipient end feel really unreal. One thing that's helped has been my regular students straight-up blitzing my schedule. i appreciate that they're all eager beavers, and want one last shot at my lessons, and i don't want to bite the hand that feeds, but...let me tell you, seeing the same groups of people nine classes (or more!) in a given week is a real good way to not wanting to see them ever again. It's been, in a word, f'ing exhausting. Still, payday in April will have a bit more bulk than it otherwise would have, so it all washes out, i suppose.

Tomorrow's the for real last day. Somehow a after-work party agglomerated around me when i wasn't looking. Which was nice, but also distinctly odd.

Ossu! Got another late-night bite here!

This go about we're having a look at TOMB TOGGLE by RtooDee2. The too long/didn't watch is...well, i'm glad we got the jump on this one a little early, because it picked up a lot of heat really darn quick. i can't say i'm super surprised, as it's an extremely solidly-put-together example of straight-forward platforming joy. If you've somehow not given it a go yet, definitely take a bit of time to do so now.

Thanks, as always, for the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Behind the Curtains Stuffs
So, work is wrapped, then. Still hasn't quite set in, seeing as Thursday/Friday have been my regular days off for yonks. i think come tomorrow, and not having anything on schedule to do, and it'll start to sink in just how deep the soup i've dropped myself into really is. i'm hoping ankle-deep, but we'll see. i don't think, necessarily, being out of this job is going to really do much to un-kink my head, but i do know that it's easier fighting an elephant than it is fighting rats.

The mini-shindig that got kitted up around me was pretty fun. i was lucky to run into an old friend before she shipped herself off to Thailand, so that was good. People kept buying me shots, though; and one of the first rules i learned living in Milwaukee was: never turn down free drinks, so i may have had a bit more than was strictly healthy. Managed, somehow to get extricated before last train, though i don't have anything more than snapshot memory as to actually getting home.

Picked up Risk of Rain 2, and learned to my dismay that my poor old laptop is just not up to snuff to play it, let alone to record playing it. Which is a shame, because i was looking forward to doing a series on it. There're just too many dropped frames, though, and it [1] makes it almost impossible to track and fire on enemies, which is bad for me; and [2] makes the video jump around like a drunk with a Kodak, which is nauseating, and probably bad for you. i'm just going to have to wait 'til it comes around to PS4, or 'til i can afford a serious upgrade to my equipment. It does make me feel a little better about Borderlands 3 being Epic Store-exclusive, though. If my set-up can't handle something relatively light like RoR2, there's no way it'd be able to handle BL3.

Ossu! Another late-night bite coming your way!

This go about we're having a look at 白の夢 dream of white by riku04. The too long/didn't watch is this is a Jside LBP1 level revamped for LBP2 (and played in LBP3, it's a wonder nothing broke). It's one of those super-fiddly all-about-precision platformers that you'll either love or hate. It's...not my favourite, but i can't say what i saw was poorly put-together or unfair. Give it a look see, hopefully you'll make it past challenge 4 (of 30), which is where i cashed out.

Thanks, as always, for all the support and feedback, and have a great day!

Stopped by the jobs-center and got the ball rolling there. It's just a wee first step, but it's started at least.

Ossu! Back with a Friday night bite!

This go about we're having a look at Memory Medley by Liquid-Circuits...which...ok, i guess they changed their PSname between the recording and now, since they were kayno1 a few days ago. Anyways, long story short, this is a pretty good one. Nice, ambitious concept; solid execution; decent variety of gameplay (though, perhaps a little too power-up heavy). Give it a go, yeah?

Thanks, as always, for the feedback and support, and have a great day!
