Help with rail hooks please

Hi, I'm creating a level with objects attached to rail hooks and I was trying to figure out how to get them to drop down to the rail below. I can disengage it using the input but it doesn't attach to the rail below, it just disengages completely.

Also is there a way to stop a player from moving for a few seconds?

Thanks

For stopping the player you could send a anti-gravity tweaker to the player with a broadcastchip...

Hmmm it is quite some time since i played lbp but if i remember correctly, both points are possible.

To reattach after disengaging, you need to quickly reactivate the input and the rail below should be in the same layer. (important)
There could occur some problems with reengaging if you are falling to fast.
When flying to fast, the collision gets glitchy.
Rail is generaly glitchy so you will have to experiment until you get what you want.
The rail is easily braking for me but i needed it for some cool magic.

To stop in the middle of the way, you will have to change the moving tweak on the hook to motorised.
If you need acceleration and deacceleration, you can put two TIMER before the moving input for the + and -.
I dont know the propper tweak name for the TIMER to act as delay.
Something between 0,5 and 1,0 seconds should do the trick.

If someone feel need to correct something, feel free to do so. (My english is not perfect)
I hope that this is helpful.
Have fun.

I have suddenly idea for making a powerup which acts like a whip which can slide on the rail.

I'm still confused. Is there a way for a rail hook to stop midway on a bendy rail for a few seconds and then continue? Because that would solve my problem too

If you put the antigravity chip on the hook that have 100% gravity and second tweak (Air supression perhaps. Dont know the name) on 100% too, the hook would be not movable.
To control the behaivor, connect the antigravity chip/tool with some sort of input.
Perhaps marker/tag sensor which gets signal from the marker/tag.
Sorry cant explain it better because i dont know the english names.
I hope that this helps somehow.
Have fun.
