Hey all!

You may be aware of my 'Traffic Panic!' series in LittleBigPlanet. The first was published on the 4th of November 2014 and is one of the last Team Picks in LittleBigPlanet 2, and the second was published on the 4th of November 2015 and was also added to the Team Picks playlist.

These mini-games received a lot of positive feedback, but there was always something that was lacking from them. In both of these games I tried to implement multiplayer features in some way - even if it was just simply players 2-4 affecting the environment somehow, but these plans were eventually scrapped because of thermometer issues and the like.

Well, now I' happy to announce:

This new addition to the series is more than just a spin-off, but a fully fledged game that has taken over a year of planning and creation.

The game, as the title suggests, is exclusively multiplayer (to 2 people, though I'm working on extending it up to 4 in a certain game mode, more info later in the post...). Grab a friend and get ready to cause some Panic!

The level is the first in the Traffic Panic! series to introduce new arenas and ways of playing. Whilst previous installments simply had 'Crossroads' and 'Double Crossroads', Traffic Panic: Multiplayer Mania has:



(*)Arcade Battle
(*)Roundabout
(*)Car Park
(*)Classic Panic!

Arcade Battle
This game mode uses the traditional Traffic Panic! cross-road system, however introducing new Power-Ups, Weapons and 3 lives for each player. The Power-Ups are:

(*)Ghost (all cars and collisions in your area become 'ghosts' and will not crash)
(*)Bomb (wipe out all cars in your area and receive 100 points)
(*)+1 Life
The weapons are:

(*)Egg (splat an egg over the other player's screen, blocking their view of the road)
(*)Slow-Down (slow down all of your opponent's controllable cars)
(*)Bomb (burn out the other player's traffic light, meaning their cars will cross the road when they want to)

Roundabout
This game mode allows players to literally battle head-to-head as they aim to get as many cars to go round the roundabout and out the exit. This may sound simple but it requires good timing and puzzle solving, and it causes plenty of Panic!

Car Park
In this game mode players have to park as many cars in the available car parking spaces they can in 60 seconds. Whoever manages to park the most cars in that time wins!

Classic Panic!
This game mode calls back to the play style of the original 'Traffic Panic!' in LittleBigPlanet 2. Using the same cross-roads as before - however this time there are no lives, no weapons and no power-ups.

From the looks of what I've seen in that trailer (2016??) this level looks well-crafted and fun to play! Seems like there's been a lot of effort and thought put into this, and the end result should live up to that. When the BETA is finished and you release a final, I hope it gets all the attention it deserves.

While I unfortunately can't give you any feedback nor participate in the BETA, maybe third time's the charm and you'll get another Team Pick for this series eh? Good luck

Thanks man! I really have put a lot of time and effort into it! You're shocked at the trailer being from 2016 but development on the level started only a few days after the release of 'Traffic Panic 2: Road Rage!' in November 2015.
