I don't feel recognized for my hard work, why am i here?

Lately, I felt unnoticed . I spend days working on levels nobody sees. I am starting to feel sad, why am I here if i'm going to be ignored? I make a variety of level types. I just wish people would notice. I came to  to hopefully get a jumpstart, but that doesn't seem to work, actually since I came here, my play count has dropped. You have to be real lucky to get featured on a picks episode, & I'm pretty sure I ran out of luck. Hopefully you understand my struggle. Talk to you later, I guess  .

Creating LBP levels for fame and recognition isn't the right motive. You should create because you want to be creative, have fun and share your work regardless of how popular it gets.

I think it comes down to three things, 1, the comunity is almost dead, 2, newest level section gets spammed with spam, and 3, players who play newest levels are very quickly bored, while the other players play levels that already have recognition. So yeah, i think its just luck.

Ive got quite a decent number of hears on my profile, but that means nothing when its from players in lbp2 who don't play lbp3. So in effect i have little to no status

Levels that do get recognition tend to come from recognized authors, who got their status back in lbp2 or very early lbp3. If not that, the level is pandering to the mass audience.

But thats just my small rant.

Success isn't guaranteed. My best advise would to learn to 'get back up' if you will, keep trying, keep creating. I had to learn, it's hard, but totally worth it. If you're willing to put in the time and effort to perfect your craft, you will get the success you deserve.

The community is dead (the serious community that is) and the development team never came up with a good way to eliminate terrible and overly spammed levels in the first place. Besides, forums don't do picks anymore since they're relatively dead too.
On top of that, it's not that everyone on this forum represents everyone playing this game; there are a lot more players.

I see, it sucks to be unnoticed on LBP, but man: First of all community is dead. I suggest you to play this game for fun since making levels for fame often doesn't work. Further more i played your levels here on LBF and i think they are broken. We can't spotlight a broken level, can we? Thx for understanding. <5

Knowledge is key. Learn the ways. There are still plenty of ways to force attention towards your levels if you can't get any by luck. One must learn the ways in order to succeed, or perish like the rest. And if you do in fact find out how, keep it for yourself or spammers will make an unavoidable comeback which will ruin what there is left of the community.

I have same problem back in LBP2. But in one time my bad level was MM picked. Community don like it. And i was delet this level. AND i understand what i need to be more creative, make some unique levels, or level what i never see in LBP before, and it works well. I was try to search some concepts, mostly for puzzle games. And now i have few puzzle level what get TP.

I can't do anything about 'Eevee mini-pack' , which is why i put a lag and overheat warning in description, but i edited 'Work in Progress' so you don't need dlc to play it.

I get you #thestruggleisreal
Just think of it like being a project. Like a musician, an actor, a game developer... You make levels and put them out there. Kinda like a product. If you're lucky, people will like it and you'll get recognized. If not, then oh well, next project. There's always some players truly enjoying what you do Not everyone comments and is on forums like this one. Don't try too hard.

I was working months on a level and it has 8 plays and 1 heart (In LBP Vita). LBPV's community is a dead horse, but I will not leave.

LBP is like YouTube: Have some patience, if you want to get known. But anyways, creating nice levels shouldn't be for fame. I guess you want, that you have some more plays. Pretty normal. Just republish SOMEtimes. And have PATIENCE

You also have to come up with cool and interesting stuff. But now, where I saw you, I'll play your levels. Still this day you will have 1 more play. It's not something big, but a lil' start, huh?

Yes it is.

But when you put much effort in something and it's unknown, you could be sad, which is understandable.

Haha, cool thing!

So, to finish this,

- Republish, if needed
- Don't make youryelf crazy, when you have less plays
- Create because you have fun and try it!

I spend months of work on every level I make and toil over every little detail to make them as good as possible. I don't get stevebigguns-amounts of attention, but I'm content because I love seeing feedback from people on forums and in-game. Would it be nice to have thousands of plays on every level? Sure, but I'm not going to strive for it because as I've said, I feel like that's the wrong motive for creating in LBP. LBP is an expressive game. Personal motivation should be primary, with the motive of popularity taking a back seat to that. Contrary to what a lot of people say, the community is far from dead. If you want more attention, try posting them on more places like Twitter, Reddit, the Sackinima Forums and spreading word to your friends. Just make sure you're doing it for the right reasons.

Well you guys ok with less plays but if anyone wonders how to be popular on LBP here some tips,

These are my personal experience on how to get plays and hearts, these worked for me but idk if it will work for you.

Ok first of all you have to make legit good levels first. If your level is good it will get noticed anyways. But here some tips:

1) Get a Team pick,

Try to make a good minigame or a nice platformer, minigames have a higher chance on getting picked. Or You can be lazy and make halloween or christmas themed level. This method worked for nearly everyone

2) Be on Forums

Again you will get noticed more. I recognise alot people on this forum because they are active and when someone i recognise posts a level i play it imediatly because it feel familiar. Aslo why not join a contest for fun and you can socialise more?

3) Make Friends on LBP

Tbh this is the key point, if you have friend they can test your level and play you levels as soon as you publish. If you get alot plays in a week or so you will hit cool page and chances of you getting play is more. Also friends will recommend your level to others.

4) Make Clickbait Levels

If you are really desperate for plays and hearts copy publish copyed levels or make a crappy Five nights and freddy level. Undertale is acceptable too. But i suggest making fun nad unique levels.

Honestly if you make levels for fun and make good ones you will get plays. Make a good level and i will see if i can help

All you need to do to get plays and not look like a clickbait abusing fool is follow a simple four step plan.

Step 1: recreate an app or flash game in lbp and call it something slightly different.

Step 2: publish it and tweet it to what's his face to go try it

Step 3: ????

Step 4: profit.

Yeah, I would just post levels on forums if I were you. It's the best chance to get at least a decent amount of attention. Sadly, the LBP series was doomed ever since LBP3 came out. LBP3, while an amazing masterpiece in the LBP series, came out at a time when most people had already left the LBP series. Not to mention it was developed by Sumo Digital, who didn't know where and how to move the LBP series forward. Many people(including me for a couple of months) left LBP3 after it's severely buggy launch, while others had left the whole series years ago, when LBP1 and 2 were long dead. LBP3's additions to the LBP series were like a huge DLC pack. Nothing revolutionary, but a nice little love letter to LBP fans. Overall, even though the LBP series is history, LBP3 turned out to be a great deal of fun while it lasted. Hopefully, Media Molecules Dreams can take the next big step in the Play,Create, and Share genre . Check this out from MM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWgqm04c8Os&feature=youtu.be

Trailers do also help.

LBP Vita isn't dead. I published a trailer 3 days ago. It has 90 plays now.

Here is the place for you. Show us your levels and a few of us will play them.

And here is one tip: Type the genre your level fits in in your level name. It's easier for everyone to know what it is.

Can you give me your PSN ID? I could play your fancy levels. Oh, it's below your profile picture.

This all sounds like it is a competition and not fun.  I have only just got LBP3 and I am not normally a 'joining in' sort of person, but you kind of need to be to get the most out of the game.  What I have noticed though , which I find ridiculous and annoying are things like people posting the same level numererous times, people posting other peoples work as if it were their own and people posting totally pointless rubbish which has barely any content at all.  All this seems to be from some drive to get hits, hearts, plays, which must be some sort of status thing and need for recognition.  It is a game not a job and having someone heart your game means what at the end of the day? If you enjoyed the process of learning and making, that is what counts.  We all never stop learning and nobody is perfect so it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of your 'work'.  In some ways art needs an audience but mostly it is for the maker.  Another thing I really dont like is reading some really nasty comments in the reviews and comments sections.  This is awful, people of all ages are using the game, I was learning from a tutorial by a little girl on youTube the other day who said she hadnt started school yet!

It's about the fun. I want to entertain people, bring them some minutes of fun. To do that, I need the right audience. A audience that likes topdown levels for example.

My personal goal is perfection of my levels. I will never reach perfection, but everytime I am getting a little bit closer with a new level. That keeps me making levels.

Yeah, the new levels page is full of spam, but you can post your levels in the fansites and the playstation forum. I think there are 6 different places to post your level. If your level has something really good and unique, it can happen that it gets shown in a spotlight episode of the fansites.

I know the feeling. Aside from the one Easter level I made (On Easter, no less.) My levels are pretty lucky if they manage to reach 50 plays. The big thing to remember is it's nearly impossible to get noticed in the nearly dead lbp 1 and lbp 2 communities. The trick is to not be sad, but thankful. Be happy for the plays you have, thank people who took the time to leave reviews, and most importantly, don't let your lack of popularity keep you from having fun. Who knows? You might just make a new friend.
