LBP3 - Which is Better - PS3 vs. PS4 Ports

So, now that I have a PS4, we can now talk about the differences between the PS3 and PS4 ports! Here's what I can see so far between the two. You may carry on the discussion further for more differences!

PS3: - Same engine as LBP2, same graphics, only with a new story mode, and improved gameplay
        - Slower at running some things cause it's a PS3
        - Online is an absolute mess on PS3: Connection failures, laggy levels, etc.
        - PS3 has many unpatched bugs that need fixing
        - Multiplatform poop has made this port a mess with laggy levels made on PS4
        - Undoing and redoing are a pain to do in the PS3 port due to being unresponsive multiple times 80% of the time

PS4: - Same engine as LBP2, but with much nicer graphics, a new story mode, and improved gameplay
        - Nice touchpad utilizations
        - Loads very fast, faster than the other LittleBigPlanets I've played
        - Levels are very nice looking and stable on PS4
        - Online is much more stable: While I can't say anything about multiplayer because I don't have PS Plus, I believe it is much better.
        - Multiplatform poop does not interfere with PS4 experience
        - Any LBP3 DLC purchased on the PS3 port will automatically be on PS4 if you are using the same one as your PS3's account.
        - Undoing and redoing are much faster and more responsive
Talk away with the comparison below!

Well, yeah, obviously the PS4 version is better. The game has always been designed for the PS4, so it's no wonder the PS3 version is just a worse version that doesn't get as much attention. You really need a PS4 if you want to properly experience the truly great game that LBP3 is.

Yeah... Just one thing. You forgot to add the one negative about the PS4 version; it corrupts a LOT more than the PS3 version. But, then again, when the PS3 version corrupts, it's a lot more drastic...

The fact that you're calling a flopped game a 'truly great game that LBP3 is', is quite funny.

That's because it's a truly great game, just as I stated before.

Lets be realistic here, littlebigplanet 3 adds a few interesting things but the state of the game at launch was pretty dismal and the majority of the new additions are gimmicky. The fact is that there are very few things that can be done in lbp3 that couldn't in lbp2, the main being traversible additional layers and animation of characters. The broadcast microchip, the addition of toggle, swoop, and that other thing were basically just a shortcut to stuff that already could be done in littlebigplanet 2. Not to mention that they changed some subtleties of analog signals for no identifiable reason that broke some lbp2 logic in lbp3.

Littlebigplanet 3 isn't a terrible game, it just works too much to make creating easy for the common player and as a result works against those who are pretty serious about their creations. In my opinion at least.

I'm funny? Why thank you very much! No I was not commenting about the touchpad create mode, but the popit navigation etc. And yes the game has loaded faster (I am talking about startup) than any other LBP I've played!

I haven't had any corruption issues yet, so I left it out. And guys, oh wait, this is a debate thread! Nevermind

To be honest, they should have just made LBP3 a PS4 game only. That way they could have spent more of their time polishing on 1 platform before the Nov. 18 deadline it had. They could also strengthen the game's stability and add new capabilities that were impossible on the PS3. I really believe LBP3 could have been the best LBP game if they had just put all their focus on 1 platform. I know, this would upset a lot of PS3 players, including myself. But it's better to have a polished gameplay experience than a broken one

Thankfully they've repaired the game over time to get it to what it should have been at launch, but they were put in a tough situation.  The game was clearly intended for the PS4, but they likely knew that there would be immense outcry from the community if it were made exclusive for the PS4.  Keep in mind, it was still a relatively new console at that point and not nearly as many people owned one.  I don't know if it was Sony that made them release it on both platforms or Sumo coming to their own independent decision, but all things considered, they probably made the better choice.  They weren't going to "win" either way, but they went with the lesser of two evils for the sake of the community.

gurren009, I agree. It would've been upsetting to the PS3 players, but at least they did stablize some gameplay later on, but overall the PS4's stability in gameplay is more so.

It's not that the core of the game itself is crap, it's the business model and poor support that made it crap.

Listen, Sound Friction, stop preaching your opinion. We get it. You hate this game's guts.

Alright, have fun with your edgy, go-against-the-flow attitude while the rest of us are actually having fun and enjoying creations together.

I thought this was a debate on the differences between the ports and our opinions versus the game entirely???

So I had a profile corruption as I was working on a level and was working on a material tweaker. Luckily it had a backup ready and I hadn't done much with the level after the previous round so kudos to the PS4 and to me!

I never had any profil corruption. I think that only happens to the PS4 version of the game?

Yeah I'm talking about the PS4 version. No it was not actually a full on profile corruption, but rather a corruption of the stuff I did before my last save.

One thing that annoys me is when people act like LBP3 is the only game in the series that is capable of corruption.  I've had my files corrupted in both LBP1 and 2.  Thankfully I was in the habit of making frequent backups (as one should do with any game, really) by the time I encountered an LBP2 profile corruption, but I was too young at the time of the LBP1 corruption and lost one of my more decent levels at the time.

LBP PSP is the only game that was corrupting for me.
It corruped all the time, yet people weren't whining about it.

Well here's what happened. Remember the freezes and all that that would make you lose unsaved progress? Well this was the PS4 version of that, except it didn't freeze, it crashed. It said it was corrupted but rather what it was was that it was the PS4's version of the freezing on the PS3.
