Musicsequencer Project started!

Hi friends,

I've started with the preliminary work on a new musicsequencer tutorial! I will show my techniques how I try to get smooth transitions between notes, how I'm working with timbre, reverb, echo asnd volume and ...everything else that I know about this mysterious tool! :p And I will show you, how I compose a song from the beginning to the finished tune!

I've started to measure and list how much of the thermo the single instruments need, and I've started with a little intro scenery to keep the tutorial as funny as possible!

...here are the first pictures...

...did you notice that this space ship is made of music instrument pieces?...

http://ib.lbp.me/img/ft/9abc451f1acf39ec4f15d3818c1377a1c9614260.jpg
...and this is me, after leaving my damaged space ship, which has been attacked by an alien species...

http://i6.lbp.me/img/ft/bb67b288d6676bb5c7944ae36ef06ce1bdd02924.jpg
...the alien space ship, before capturing me with my musicsequencer...

...the aliens want to understand the technology of the musicsequencer and force me to disclose its secrets...

...ok, maybe its not the most witty story, but...I had no better idea!

Many greetings, Jürgen^^

Ok, working on my music sequencer tutorial somehow I've drifted off to some places, which you probably will consider as weird! You may ask: what have space ships and aliens to do with a music sequencer tutorial? But first: its a lot of fun to me to design space sceneries and second: a tutorial embedded in a little story seems to be much more interesting than a tutorial without story! So here are the next pics...

the alien space ship...

Really nice take on teaching music! ^^ I agree its more fun learning about music if its told within a story That is interesting that some instruments take less thermo than others.. I thought all instruments took the same thermo xD

Hi Sakura LBPDragonX, thanks for your friendly words! Oh yes the range of thermo needed by the different instruments is wide, from about 0.01 to about 5,5 skale marks! If you use a piano (5,5) then there is not much place for other additional instruments left! Some elctronic sounds however, such like sinus wave (0,01) nearly need no thermo. So its always good to plan which instruments one wants to use and to check how much thermo they cost!
The musicsequencerdex can be a helpful tool and will be a giveaway later!

Many greetings, Jürgen^^

No problem!

Wow, that is interesting how thermo varies with different instruments like that That is a really helpful tool too, thanks for doing a tutorial on this! =3

Hi friends, the "Musicsequencerdex" (MSD) is done now, there was no way to reduce its high level thermo costs, but the MSD isn't meant to be used as part of a level but as a tool for a musiccreator, so this should be no problem.
There are two versions now! The first on as shown above, you enter a controllinator and scroll through the different instruments to see the thermo value...

http://i2.lbp.me/img/ft/51260b9b3ff89155ca886d90d9e6c07a33e1cd32.jpg

The second version is an icon chart with all the instruments and you get the thermo value by pointing with the popit-cursor on the instrument...

http://ib.lbp.me/img/ft/01be759f732af3bec100ed102ce32c30c1e09a91.jpg

in this version you can also sort the instruments in the categories: low - middle - high thermo costs, so that you can only see all the instruments of one of this categories...

http://i6.lbp.me/img/ft/da6dbc91c6455c46e4762196701d3eecc46a306b.jpg

...here both versions simultaneously...

http://i5.lbp.me/img/ft/ef50a8a3eb42a1abe602d287d8d16aaf5335624b.jpg

When the tutorial will be done you can get both versions as a giveaway!

Have a fine weekend and many greetings, Jürgen^^

Hi friends,

here a little update to my musicsequencer tutorial, I've improved my explosion caused by the fazer-weapon-attack of the alienship, Now my space ship has a multi functional HUD screen window (what a pity that the aliens have their fazer weapons ) amd may I introduce to you:...P-A-U-L (pilot assistent unit series L) or shortly: Paul, fast friend and
helpful adviser in the endless solitude of the universe.

Hello friends,

though I'm currently working my fingers to the bones, writing the story and the dialogues, I nevertheless found some time to elaborate a further space scenery...

...Space: the final frontier. This is the voyage of the starship Jericho...
