How Would You Rate Each LittleBigPlanet Game?

Hello sackfolk!

After finishing all three LBP games, this question has lurked in my mind:

On a 0/10 rating scale, how would you, the community, rate each of the main LittleBigPlanet instalments?

Rate them 0/10 for the following:

1. Story/Campaign: The story, characters, music, and general level design.

2. The Create Mode: Not which is better per se, but which one you enjoyed the most at the time.

3. Community levels/User Interface: What levels you enjoyed seeing/playing when the game was at its creative peak, and the layout when you jumped on your giant PlayStation Controller.

4. Overall.

Be sure to add explanations why you chose said ratings!

For me:

1. Story/Campaign:

LBP: 7/10

LBP2: 10/10

LBP3: 7/10

LBP was an interesting game. It has some intriguing characters, and an okay villan. It just didn't feel coherent at all; I helped a bunch of creators through their small problems, and moved on. The Collector was barely present as an established antagonist until the very end, when all the sudden, he apparently captures all of said aforementioned creators. It felt......... off. But still fun, and had a nice soundtrack.

As you can see, I loved LBP2's story mode. The characters were great, the main antagonist remains my favorite throughout the whole series. The levels (and their themes) were good fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed its soundtrack.

LBP3 was okay. A bit on the short side though. I was never really invested in the characters, and disliked the hub world design. But it did have its strong moments, like being a yeti in a top-down level. Not all characters disinterested me; I liked The Newton. Not a bad character design. The levels weren't bad, though. I enjoyed them well enough. And the soundtrack was okay. Nothing spectacular.

2. Create Mode:

LBP: 6/10

LBP2: 10/10

LBP3: 9/10

LBP's create mode is fine, but that is the one I tried last. So, it just felt limiting. Not necessarily a bad thing though; sometimes having limits can be fun.

LBP2's Create Mode also takes the cake. I still play it, and learn about tools all of the time! It just feels...... right. Like the perfect balance of not too little, but not too much.

LBP3's Create Mode has a LOT of potential. I haven't given it much of a chance lately, due to still trying to master LBP2's tools. So it's not bad at all. It just overwhelms my unknowledgeable self. And then there's the bugs.

3. Community Levels/User Interface:

LBP: 7/10

LBP2: 9/10

LBP3: 8/10

LBP's levels, while neat, never really hold my attention like LBP2's can. I'm an LBP2 person. Spoiled, you might say. But still very creative! It's User Interface is okay.

LBP2's Community section had me gripped for a long time. Even though it has a lot of awful copied/lazily made levels. There was so many enjoyable levels on it! I can still find a new and exciting level today. And since I started with LBP2, its User Interface is the one that I'll always be used to. So maybe a bit of an unfair advantage over the other games. But hey, what can I say?

LBP3's Community Levels that I've played are all usually pleasant. It's long load times through me off, so I haven't played a lot. And once again, LBP2's User Interface is the one that I'm used to. So this one kinda throws me off. It's still manageable, but I need to get used to it more.

4. Overall:

LBP: 7/10

LBP2: 10/10

LBP3: 8/10

LBP is the game that started it all. A very classic/basic feel that I can enjoy.

LBP2 is obviously my favorite. I love everything about it!

LBP3 Is still fun, but its (more rare in my case) bugs and long load times throws me off. I need to give it more time I think.

Whew! That was longer than I thought! If you read this whole post, you deserve a cookie! Or a macaroon, in Fluffy's case.

Thanks in advance for reading, and leaving your input!

How is LBP2's Create Mode better than LBP3's? I don't understand you.

As the above user stated, the bugs can be a pain.
But the question was what Create Mode you enjoyed using most. Not the best, because LBP3 is obviously superior (sans bugs). I enjoyed using LBP2's the most. I'm still learning, though.

So that could potentially change in time!

My review:

1. Story

LBP1: 8/10

Themes and level desings were awesome. Those themes were extreamly awesome and all of the levels were fun to replay even though you played them 100 times before. Gameplay is super simple, very cute! It's only phisic based gameplay but still better than some of the LBP2 and 3 levels. Music was on point too, those musics still sounds cool even though we listened to them for 7 years. Characters were nice too, still cardboard characters are better in my openion. One thing i didn't like in LBP1 is that story is very derpy, i didn't realised that there was a story untill end of Last level of The Temples. Maybe because i was younger back then but story didnt made sense to me. Cute

LBP2: 9/10

Okay i need to say this, Davinci has the most boring levels in entire LBP series. But everything else is very cool and creative. I was very impressed by those concept arts on Mm's web site, like LBP2 is very well planned. And overall all of the themes are unique and awesome, well expect davinci. Music is nice too. Story is awesome but Eve's part felt like Mm made that plot twist at the end of avalonia because story was short. But after playing it, it was worth making that plot twist and end up becoming my favorite theme. Characters are creative and have nice personalitys too. Also it felt like a real story since all characters talked to each other. Like Eve and Clive, Davinci and others. Artistic

LBP3: 6/10

Oh boy that was nice but full of dissapointments. First of all story was very short. I couldn't belive it was that short. Story wasn't too bad but not writen as well as LBP2. Another huge dissapointment is that we had few levels which are oddsock, toggle, swoop based. Music was the best. Every level had a diffrent music which was cool in my opinion. Level desing was too blocky, they used alot grids, looks ok sometimes. Character desing was ok but needs more characters. Also loved the fact that all characters are fully voice acted.

2. The Create Mode.

LBP1: 8/10

Creative is very hard but it feels AWESOME after you make a level. It's very fun to work with limited stuffs. But create mode is not enough for creative stuffs other than platformers and minigames. Creating is like makeing a puzzle. It's also very cute

LBP2: 9/10

Man those tools really changed what LBP ment. We can't argue on how usefull they are. Music secuencer is a game changer aswell. Creating become soo proffessional.

LBP3: 9/10

Everyone hates but LBP3 has the best create mode. You can create so much more! People still haven figure out the pottential i think. Everyone complains about bugs but i havent saw any but after May 2015. Ayway LBP could feel like REAL lbp like in those first trailer if people use those 3D good. 3D is awesome.

3. Community levels

LBP1: 9/10

Communtiy was nice but at a point, there was cool levels created but later there was nothing but copied levels to play. Also making Clans was very fun as well. Really nice memories.

LBP2: 8/10

After 2012 there was nothing ro play but copied level still. Sorry to say it but Mm picks gone bad too. And community is more rude and mean to eachother. There was alot drama in LBP2 honestly. But there was some nice gems in community still and those levels were very inspiring and awesome!

LBP3: 7/10

There is accualy no WOW THATS AWESOME levels yet. Interface is better than LBP2 because we can see no copied levels. We need a trending page although. Level of the day and Team picks are awful at this point, no offense Sumo. Online lag is very bad.

4. Overall.

LBP2 > LBP1 > LBP3

Sorry for my awful english

Reading your post makes me realize that I'm a bit biased toward LBP2. Maybe I'll knock off a point in the levels section.

And your english isn't that bad.
Thank's for the input!
