Would the original LittleBigPlanet be worth purchasing?

Hey sackfolk!

So, I've been thinking about buying LBP1. Partly to complete the trio......

But would it be worth a $20 (Amazon listing) purchase? Obviously I would have a new campaign to play through. But I like the sound of seeing what I can come up with, since this game only has rather simple tools.

If someone is aware of cheaper options, I'd be a happy man.
Would you folks recommend a purchase?

For the story levels, absolutely. It's the foundation of which the franchise exists.

Create mode is better off with you time being spent in another LBP game, reasons; publishing in the flooded community of spam levels means probability of your recognition is improbable and create mode is as quote "simple tools" (I hope this isn't out of context) so theres nothing you can do that you can't in LBP2/3. Though this is just my thoughts though you can still play around, see what the original create mode was like (my preference is LBP2 over all installments).

Price wise. I'd suggest checking eBay. I just had a look and there was a brand new package copy for just over £3. Maybe $6.

I see what you mean.

I'm not an Ebay user though, so maybe I'll try too rummage through Best Buy's $5 bin.

I agree, it's definetly a must buy and truth be told it's my faviroute LBP :p The story is great and the create mode will really test your abilities as you can see what you can create on a fairly limited scale! How ever, as mentioned earlier, it's hard to gain recognition amongst the community now I recently published a level and got more than 100 plays but only 4 completes and most of them where my friends! I think that is just because they don't understand the idea of unique but just love Bomb Survivals and Shark Attacks.... Anyway must buy! Pick it up cheap on EBay!

I got it for 10 bucks recently. I considered that a fair price. 20 is just way too much though, anything below 10 is a good price to be honest.

Story mode would be fun to play.
The game have some special, uniq and dreamy atmosphere. (that i missed in other lbp)
It felt longer than lbp 2 or 3. (or even both together maybe)
Considering the greedy prices for the dlc, i would say that 20$ could be ok.
At least you will get way more content.
As for prizes, the only must have item would be the samurai armor.
That one is pretty hard to get and only with help from second player.

It's a really good game. I think it has the best story in lbp and the most memorable moments. It also has some really memorable songs. I agree with everyone, old ps3 games are usually under 20 or 10 dollars. It's definitely worth getting.

Thanks for your recommendations! I'll see if I can find it cheaper.

@Psmerga Don't worry, my PSN friend is the one who urges me to get it. So We'll be playing through the campaign together.

Well, I picked up a used copy of (Game Of The Year edition!) LBP1 at Gamestop for $10. Not bad.

I'll tell you folks what I think after I've played it through.

So, I've played a little of the campaign. I'm enjoying it well enough.

The best part about this purchase, is the fact that I bought the Game of the Year edition. So, now I have $30 worth of DLC (I don't really buy DLC), plus LBP1 itself, for the price of $10. Not to shabby. Especially since I can use this stuff in LBP2 and LBP3.

I do have a question though:

Can I skip these infuriating tutorials in Create Mode? I didn't even get through the Popit Cursor one, hee hee.
Seriously though, it would be a bit boring to sit through all of these.

Well, I've finished LBP1 with a friend, just a few moments ago.
It was fun. Kinda intriguing to see the game that started it all.

Campaign-wise, here is how I would rate each game:

LBP1: 7/10

LBP2: 10/10

LBP3: 7/10

As you can see, I loved LBP2's campaign!

Thank you all for the recommendation!
