So, ever wondered why the noobs of LittleBigPlanet do H4H and publish copied levels on the cool pages? Well, these questions are being answered right now! Let's start with what the community has said.

The community has said many things of how if you do this or that you get this or that, but the main topic in this type is the Rare Prize Crown. That's right, the ultra rare Crown is the center of this topic.

Over the time of LittleBigPlanet, rumors and big fat lies have been spread throughout the community. The biggest of these lies is doing certain things that give you the Crown.

Now before anyone starts bickering about the certain things that give you a Crown being the biggest lie in the community, there are LEGIT ways to get the Crown, but at the same time there are the lies, a.k.a fake ways to get the Crown. Legit ways to get the Crown are by sending in very detailed and good fan art, and if they like it a lot, and you keep it up, you will receive a Crown. Another way and the most popular way is by winning a competition that has the Crown as a prize for the winner.

Now let's start getting into the lies/rumors, and get to the point of why the noobs do H4H and publish copied levels on the cool pages.

There is a popular rumor that if you get a certain amount of hearts, you will be rewarded with a Crown. That my friends, is a big lie. There are people, like Nathan900 (EpicLBPTime), who have over 50,000 hearts, but might not have the Crown. This is why noobs do H4H.

Another rumor is that if you get a Team Pick, you will earn a Crown. Again, this is also a lie, but not fully a lie. There are people who have been Team Picked before, and have the Crown. But these generally people have more than one Team Pick. You have to have a certain amount of Team Picks in order to earn a Crown.

The other popular rumor is that if you get a certain amount of plays, you will be rewarded with a Crown. Just like the hearts rumor, this is also a big lie. There are definitely people, including me, who have had lots of plays on our levels. Did we earn a Crown? No. This is why people, including the infamous Latin_Player_10, who have copied and spammed the same old LittleBigPlanet 1 levels and take credit from them. They think that if they get a certain amount of plays from the cool pages, they will get a Crown, but we all know that this is not true.

Of course people who get frustrated also do H4H, and P4P (play for play). They only do this because they are not getting the plays or appreciation they think they deserve, so there is another reason they do this, but the main factor is the Crown rumors/lies. Thanks sana!

True, but you haven't included the fact that people may not be getting noticed or given what appreciation they think they deserve! So they do P4P or H4H when they get frustrated.

Also I honestly thought you'd have to get at least one team/Mm pick to get a crown (and I did know fan art was an option )

hmm.. well. some people get the crown that haven't gotten a team pick, haven't gotten a ton of plays and haven't made fan art. these people were simply recognized for their creativity and their contributions. also, I know people that have multiple team picks and no crown.. also know people that have one team pick and a crown. it's simply something that is awarded. on tht note, there are many people that probably should have a crown that don't and definitely some people that it was handed to for very little. and for all these reasons, I don't put too much value in that award.

for the topic of H4H, I can agree that that can be part of the reason. another part is that, these people think that having a bunch of hearts on their profile makes them "cool" somehow. very silly to think when anyone that can spam smartly and go around posting "H4H" can get these hearts .

there is one other thing that is a bit silly about hearts if you ask me. there are people that are actually decent at creating things that will make things for the sole purpose of getting plays. like people trying to make their own versions of that "Sackboy exe" thing.. or people that follow a formula for what types of levels get team picked even if that's not something they would normally make. or things that follow a certain fad that the young kids are into at the time. this makes people seem a bit desperate to gain popularity on a video game of all things.. for example, if I were to use my own skills for the purpose of getting plays, I could make remakes of very popular songs and do "hearts specials" to give them out. like.. I could publish something popular and not give the tune out as a prize until I get a said number of hearts or something. I think heart specials aren't too far off from H4H. it all just seems silly and a bit shallow to me

If you present levels as a list it inherently becomes hierarchical. Similarly, hearts become a resource.

Another point is that everyone has their own profiles, which necessarily means you must promote yourself as a brand.

If you wanted to inspire a greater feeling of community, rather than cut-throat competition, those are the areas where I would start.

Hearts are kind of a double edged sword. When you only make levels to get hearts it's not seen as a very good act. The majority of all people does in fact use heart for heart. Believe me or not, back in 2012 I made an account just to test this theory. I gained about 200 hearts in just one week. Disgusting, I know.

When your intentions are pure and when you only make levels to contribute to the community and give them something to play people can still think that you just do it for hearts. Hearts in themselves are really just a way to queue your favorite creators and give something back as a player.

I usually make my platformers and projects just for the amusement and joy for others!
But I do like getting some recognition.
