Hello everyone,
so yesterday, like I saw many of you experienced, my game crashed and corrupted my LBP3 profile at the same time ... You can imagine how I was thrilled to learn that. I lost everything, and than decided to replay it all in one day ; I'm not as far as where I was when it crashed, but still, I've redone a big part of the adventure so far. I learned from my mistake, and decided to backup after every big task in LBP3 ... But I don't have PS+, and for some reason, it takes soooo much more time to copy it on a usb stick. I realized that there was 3 distinct files that can be copied : ''Adventure progression'', ''Popit Academy progression'' and ''Profile''. I also saw that the ''profile'' file was the biggest ... And here comes my question :

Does anybody know what is actually in each file ?

It took absolutly no time to copy the Popit Academy and Adventure files, so the Profile file really is the problem here. If I don't copy the Profile and I lose everything again, what will be lost if I saved the adventure and popit academy progression ? I thought the profile datas were my costumes, my moon levels, my stickers and my pod, but since I didn't make any of those since I've restarted the entire game, I'm not sure that's it. Logically, I think the Adventure progression is everything I collected in the Story mode + the levels I played and passed without dying, etc. I noticed that my pins were still there tho, so I really don't know. Am I right ? If not, could someone tell me what isn't safe from another crash if I didn't copied the ''Profile'' datas on LBP3 ?

I have this same exact problem, I could care less about my story progression and stupid Popit puzzles. I can get those back in a day or two. My issue is losing everything I worked so hard on in my moon, my collected objects, custom stickers, music, etc. I want to know how I can get those back. I'll do anything

Adventure Map Saves save your story progress and any progress you make in online adventure maps, the actual profile backup saves your collected prizes (costumes, materials, objects, etc), levels, saved objects, trophies and pictures, and the Popit Academy saves your Popit Academy progress (obviously). The profile backup saves everything LBP2's profile backups did except story progress, basically. Make sure you're copying the profile BACKUP, not the full profile from the Game Data Utility. Since the profile backups store your levels, they might be big and could take a long time to copy. If you had PS Plus, it would probably take ages to upload your backups, anyway. I would think that you'd have to copy all of those files if you want to fully back up your profile. Don't take my word for it, though. I'd recommend backing up your profile, copying the backup to another user on your PS3 or PS4, importing the backup into LBP3 on that user, and seeing what content from your original profile transfers onto the new user.
