The Fading God of Mount Burnisore

Hi all! I've just gotten back into LBP after a couple of years. I'm still getting accustomed to the new toolset, in that process I created this:

https://lbp.me/v/qvv91t0

It was just called 'Mount Burnisore' (Burny-sore) until I added a dumb story setting to give it a bit of flavour...

It's a straight platformer with some ideas I think are pretty cool. There's a middle section with a little 'boat' on lava that I'd like to see if people understand straight away. Maybe that section needs more hand-holding/tweaks to be playable, so please let me know if you do happen to play it and find that it's not fun. Also looking for feedback on any inter-layer annoyances or falling-out-of-the-level problems you might run into. (To be honest there's probably way too much disjointed stuff going on in that level, now that I think about it...)

Its doesn't need more hand holding, but another checkpoint with a boat spawner at halfway would help. I'd also suggest you work on the geometry of the level a bit, there are a few parts that were a chore to traverse.

Also I encountered a glitch. I rung the bell, entered the teleporter then got stuck on this screen:

Which is a shame because I had the high score.

Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback--that is a shame that it glitched out at the end. Were you stuck in scenery near the entrance somehow, or did it just seem to hang? (Are you on PS3 or PS4...not that it should matter?)

I was on PS4, the game wasn't frozen, and I don't think I spawned after I teleported because I didn't hear sackboy move or anything. Couldn't open my pop it, and didnt hear him jumping when I pressed x.

Okay that narrows it down--it must be the timing on the removal of the wormhole exit. I've done it a hundred times on PS3 but maybe there's a race condition that's only exposed by the faster machine. I'll rework the logic!

In the end I pulled out the wormholes altogether and replaced them with a far nicer custom teleporter solution. It turns out that the last wormhole on the level could end up with no destination and trap the player between dimensions forever...

Out of curiosity why do you have to delete the wormhole? I havent played around with them, but couldnt you just simply detect with a player sensor when a player in in the layer in the last part (where I was supposed to spawn), and then deactivate/delete the wormholes? No timing neccessary.

Yeah, deleting the wormhole was a bad strategy. It was actually destroyed by a combination of a player detector and an end-of-level signal so it should have been fine, but...I guess the detector was somehow triggered early in the respawning process. Oh well. The new teleporters are cooler/closer to the theme of the level (you jump into a flower (perfume lid object) and FOOM)

Hi all, this has now been republished after replacing a bugged wormhole exit with a custom teleporter solution (thanks to THE-73est for the bug report!), and tweaking the geometry here and there to smooth out some areas that required too much jumping to traverse.
