Will it be possible to create playable 3D platformers?

I don't know but i think the community will find it ways to do that if that is not possible without some tricks

What do you mean by 3D? Like sphere's and that stuff or just more than 3 layers sections?

Yes, like spheres. I want to create something that looks like a 3D video game. |

True 3D platformers... I don't think so. It's 16 layers after all. Not 160 very little layers.
Maybe with LittleBIGPlanet 4 who knows (just wait 3/4 more years ) |

LittleBigPlanet 4 won't happen. Media Molecule's new series will replace LBP.

Ok I understand. I'm hoping we will get them. Like making some pyramids for a dessert level, making a planet. That would be really cool.
I don't think we will have a LBP4. But who knows everyone was saying LBP3 was a no-no, but it's coming out on november. But personally I hope another really creative game (like Seleven suggested with MM's project) bashes into the gaming panorama. Like the only creatives games I can think of are Project Spark, Minecraft & LBP. Games fueled by UCC. Who knows. Maybe LittleBigPlanet will be one of those series that never die out. I hope it is. |

3D is already possible in LBP2. go here: http://lbp.me/v/ye4qhs
You'll be able to gain 3d cameras and 3d glitches to create your own 3d platformer. Kind of like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxLvgyS5my0 (It's possible to make an even better one) As for 360 degree rotation, in LBP2 you can rotate your level map to create an illusion that the player is rotating, when actually the map itself is rotating (but it's kind of complicated) Here's an example of a level with 360 degree rotation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRa0kntFj9U I admit that 3d in LBP2 is limited, and I think 3d in LBP3 will be better. |

There are ways to create the 3D illusion without being 3D. I did it in the thin layers on LBP vita. http://vita.lbp.me/v/f7w6j. It is a fantastic illusion that is rather simple yet I haven't seen anyone else create it yet.

The camera rotation is cool but too complicated. Also, I want to create a 3D third-person platformer, not an FPS. It's not possible in LBP2. |

I dont agree that Mms new game will replace LBP and if they even make a serie. They work on something big for PS4 and you can be excited for it, but it must be to amazing to replace one of sony's shooting stars..

I don't think so. Mm's new project is like LBP but 3D and therefore superior. LBP players will switch over, and then LBP won't be making enough money. Sony will abandon the LBP series and promote Mm's new game instead. |

Tabby those fish are the most amazing three d illusion have ever seen on lbp! Also as long as it is making money, lbp will be around, also whether or not there is a 4 will be determined by how well 3 does.

Thats also possible in lbp2. The tool kit level I showed has the 3d platforming cam, and when you put it down in create mode, it follows sackboy and makes a level look 3d. Thats like the crash bandicoot level I showed.
Another way is to create a topdown character(sackboy in controllinator, or a character made from materials). Then when you put the 3d camera down, its going to show the character and you can make a 3d 3rd person platformer.(Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5bY2uTW1RA) However the lack of space in lbp2 limits what you can do with the 3d. |

Of course, I'm just stating the possibilities. Creating 3d in lbp2 is very hard and its not that efficient. Maybe the game MM is working on will bring 3D creating to the table.

That's cool, but I want to make a 3D platformer. It's currently possible to make levels that look 3D, but the gameplay is too limited. I want to add the ability to rotate the camera and character 360 degrees, walk in any direction, jump across gaps, etc. Mm told me. They call it "the next generation of play, create, share." |

i think this might be the best example of a 3d platformer in lbp2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b64EUbshJuA

Proof? No. there is no proof about this. Check out their website: http://www.mediamolecule.com/ But it's not true 3D, and that's what I want. |

I think LBP becoming 3d would a bit too much. It might lose the feel that the original LBP had.

I disagree. LBP2 lets you make non-platformer levels that hardly look like LBP, but people don't complain about that. |

I think the idea Seleven7 has is creating levels kind of like in Call Of Duty. I heard that game has a create-mode as well. That is the full 3D I believe Seleven7 is looking for. ... Right?

The call of duty fps, 3d platformers, 3d rpg's, all of that is possible in lbp2 with the 3d glitched cameras and the 3d layer glitch.
So I'm not sure what Seleven7's looking for. |

I think he means a game where it's set-up for 3d - easy, and efficient. Not tweaks and glitches.

I want to create 3D third-person platformers, not FPS levels. Full 3D platformers are not possible in LBP2, not even with glitches. Here's a good example of a full 3D platformer level: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvqJ7VKH56g I would like to be able to make something similar in LBP3. |
