Music Sequencer in LBP3?

Now before you scowl at us music makers

Please remember that the music community of LBP was one of the strongest parts of the game. It was one of the longest-lasting aspects of the community, and one of the healthiest and most effective. I remember going into a level and immediately being far more immersed when I heard an original soundtrack, as opposed to something the game's creators had tailored for a certain experience we'd had over and over again. It added unique depth to a level, and really improved the experience past what I think Mm had in mind.

SO!

Do you think LBP3 will have a music sequencer? If so, any improvements? I know if I can afford a PS4/LBP3 by the time it comes out I'll have it in a heartbeat. By that time I'll be too busy to spend much time making music on it but I know for sure what the future music makers need: EQ, Compression, and a real synthesizer. If you have no clue what any of that meant, it's totally okay. I just hope Sumo hears my miniscule cries for Music Sequencer improvement in LBP3 and maybe possibly does something about it.

Thoughts? If any?

I'm pretty sure that MM at least acknowledged that the music community was a big part of lbp, what with tunesday and all, I imagine sumo digital would acknowledge his enough to include a new sequencer However, I strongly disagree with the last part. For me, the best thing about the sequencer was how efficient it was for getting ideas out quickly (and I especially realised this when I started producing irl), I feel like this would be somewhat ruined with the addition of things you mentioned, I really don't want to have to eq, compress, reverb to hell, and create my own sounds just to get it to sound good Although this would be very appealing to people who do make music irl, I think it could be quite intimidating to music novices.

I used to use reverb like crazy in lbp2 but on the vita, there isn't that option. I have found a new way to reverb but it still sounds crystal clear and surround sound at the same time. it does involve duplicating an instrument, tuning one to right and other to left but on one of them, move the notes 1/32nd of a note over (using triplet settings). It's time consuming but puts the remixing 100% in your hands. Some instruments I offset 100/0 other 70/30, some 90/10, the instruments wrap around your head putting you slap dab in the middle of the sound.

You don't have to max out the reverb to get hifi! Reverb dulls the sound and even creates feedback when ran through tv speakers. Not everyone has 5.1 headphones like the musician making the music. If you have a vita, check out my music level. https://vita.lbp.me/v/ff22w and hear the difference.

Steven has already confirmed that the sequencer will be in LBP3.

Tbh I think the only change to the sequencer will be adding more instruments and a few extra tweak options, but let's wait to the Beta to see...

I just hope that we'll be able to still use the old sequencer if we want to... Just in case they make us a terrible new one.

What's so bad? At least i can spice up my trap-ier musics with some new kits. The Junk Kit sounds particularly interesting... and besides, he'se hinting for even more instruments! So hyped. I wanted to spend my money on some other stuff, but now it is instantly going to LBP3.

I was just so sick of people taking the style that I created (along with iChaosClay) and abusing the living crap out of it. We were like Martin Garrix when he made Big Room famous with Animals.

I want to get LBP3 just so I can make Deep House the cool thing so everyone and their dog can be a "dank producer m8"

Bring on the War songs!
Now we just need a strings section, and Choir section.
Don't forget the flute!

this this this this this this

why get all worked up over a video game's features when you have *gasp* REAL MUSIC PRODUCTION

like I get it that it's easy and accessible but how do you expect to do anything with it? It's fun for a short time and then you start looking for something more. Besides, most of the music community is like 15 - 18 years old. Why are we still messing about with video games

half of Monstercat's artists are that same age, guys. Just let that sink in

they're touring

and literally making a living off of music

and they're the same age as us

why do we still use lbp for music :l

To be honest Morta, the only honest thing that made LBP fun for me was the fun other people could bring me (friends, I don't know how to say it). But yeah, hanging out with friends and all that. I enjoyed making Anime remakes and comparing it with my friends who also did their versions. A sort of friendly competition between who made the best remake. But I will admit that I stopped focusing on originals the moment I got FL.

I'm just trying to get to point where I think i'm ready to try music on real software. I want to be in a community of people that can give me feedback so that I can consider it, do the opposite ( usually ) and impress them anyways . but in all seriousness, i'm just starting really. and people seem to like what I do so far. but when I feel that I am ready, I will definitely try the real deal.

and I also agree with kikouma. I mostly enjoy hanging out with my lbp friends and sharing things with them. I spend probably about 5% of my time on lbp making music

Can somebody tell me if there is still a thermo limit and if piano fills nearly a quarter of it?
Also if the guitar sound better than they did in LBP2

Wow... I somehow knew I'd be thoroughly disappointed. :/ LIKE WOAH NEW DRUMS

OH WAIT YOU WANTED NEW MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS? OUR BAD

Kik, I totally know how you feel. I've befriended so many people that I knew from LBP in the real world over Facebook and Skype that it's really the most lasting value to me as well. I wasn't directing those comments at you. BUT GOOD LOAD PEOPLE SERIOUSLY STOP USING THE GAME FOR MUSIC PLS

FRUITY LOOPS OR ABLEOTN ARE JUST AS ACCESSIBLE ONCE YOU LEARN HOW TO USE THEM

well, I haven't completed story mode yet. But I can say that so far, no new instruments. The drum sounds are pretty good though. The ukulele is pretty nice and some of the synth in dubstep kit could be used in some interesting ways. to me this isn't a complete let down.

No move instruments....
You get water drums, bongos, congas, shakers and triangles,
but no move instruments to make them sound great.
What......

Honestly I like to use the music sequencer as a template for FL.
It's fun to go into FL and sequence my music from lbp in like 5 minutes .
