Taking way too long

I am backing up my LBP3 profile to a USB stick. It has been saying 15 minutes for an hour and a half. It is slowly making progress but it is taking longer than the time limit. This my first time backing it up so does that have something to do with it?

Your USB isn't exFAT format, wich is the fastest transitioning format for USB.
