I live in UK and had bought US version of lbp3 before EU version was available (by using US psn credit bought from playasia). Yes yes silly me couldn't wait a week cos i was bored and impatient

Now that I've bought EU version I've found out that that all my progress has not transfered from US to EU, my nephew and I had made a lot of progress on US version almost clocked it!!

Please can anyone help, i really need to transfer all my progress from US to EU. I had assumed that the save data would be the same for both version, but no!

I don't believe that there's anything you can do about that. There's a chance that i'm wrong but I think you'll have to start over.

There was an exploit for LBP2 where if you backed up a profile (let's call it "profile 1" ) then went into its files on a computer, you can copy certain files from that backup to another backup (let's call it "profile 2" ) even if profile 2 is from a different region, and the progress from profile 1 will transfer to profile 2. You can then import profile 2 to your console. I'm sure that there's an exploit like that for LBP3 that you can do, but I'm kind of too lazy to verify it. I'll actually take a look when I have some time to see if we can pull off such an exploit on LBP3. Good luck on trying to transfer your profile!

CONFIRMED: PARTIAL TRANSFER is POSSIBLE. I poked around a little bit and discovered that you can transfer your profile. There's a flaw, though. The hack can transfer your levels (<---I believe), costumes, saved objects, prizes, trophies, etc, but the hack will NOT transfer your story progress. Let's put it this way: you'll still have every object you collected, blah blah blah, but when you enter story, you'll start at the first level or whichever level you left off on on the EU profile. I know WHY that happens, though, and I think I can fix it. The story progress saves into a separate file called Adventure maps. It is similar to your profile backup except it saves all your progress in the story levels. I'm not sure why Sumo Digital does not include the Adventure maps in profile backups because if your PS3 crashes and you restore the backup thinking that it contained everything, you'd be mad to find out that your story progress didn't save. If I can figure out which files to overwrite in the Adventure map file so it can be compatible with another user, you can hack basically the entire profile.

I'm not sure of exactly what you want to do, but I'm guessing that you have a US save on your user and want to convert that to a EU save on the same user. These are instructions for that kind of scenario. Also, NOTE THAT THIS PROCESS IS NOT FOOLPROOF AND I DON'T GUARANTEE IT WILL WORK. Also, I'm not sure if the process is the same for PS4 version. To do the partial hack...
1. Back up your US profile and and transfer the backup to a removable drive.
2. Delete your current LBP3 profile from the Game Data Utility then uninstall LBP3 US.
3. Install LBP3 EU, in LBP3 EU play through the intro until you get to your pod, back up your profile again which will create an EU profile backup, and copy the EU backup to the removable drive.
4. Plug the removable drive into your computer and locate the backups on it.
5. Enter the US profile backup folder (the profile has "US" in its name) (assuming that the US profile is the profile that you want to transfer progress from), copy a file called "0" in that folder, and paste that file into the EU profile backup folder (the profile has "EU" in its name) (assuming that the EU profile is the new profile that you want to transfer the old US profile progress to). If the computer tells you that there is a file with the same name in the EU profile, simply replace it.
6. Plug removable drive into your PS3/PS4 and copy the modified EU profile onto your PS3/PS4 again.
6. Launch LBP3 EU and import the modified EU backup onto it.

To be on the safe side, make an extra copy of the US profile backup onto your computer (by copying the entire folder). If this hack fails, just delete your EU profile and LBP3 EU off of your console, install LBP3 US, then import the US profile backup onto it. If you lost the US profile backup from the removable drive, just copy the folder of the US profile backup onto the removable drive and import that.

Hi Fox thank you for all the effort you have went to. Have found the PS4 saved data file structure is different, had tried something similar to what you mentioned by swapping or replacing files but ps4 would treat it as corrupt

It's the adventure progress i'm trying to recover onto the EU version... a few the levels were frustrating to complete and flooked a lot of the aces! I'm trying to collect all of the prizes so can create interesting stuff on my moon

Oh, I'm really sorry! This method does work on the PS3, though. I'd try to help further if I had the PS4 version, but unfortunately, I don't. I hope you reach your goal! The story isn't that bad to complete, anyway. I'm sure that you'll be at your original adventure map progress in no time!
