Massive oversight by Sumo Digital

Why is it possible to move through all 16 layers in LBP1 and LBP2 levels. This essential breaks many levels, especially any levels that aren't made in mid air.

It's only if you use the layer glitch or in a really bad level where it's using the default background as the floor.

Thing is I quite enjoy the bad levels on the ground. Its a guilty pleasure of mine, kind of like watching really bad youtube videos. Surely it would not be hard to program to just limit to 3 layers if its not an LBP3 level.

hopefully it's something they still plan on fixing because many people have used the extra layers glitch. And you're right. Shouldn't be the hardest fix.

Well, actually, it seems like a hard thing to fix.

Because the way the compatibilty is built is that it's relying on any options ticked in the Tools Bag. The sackpocket is not enabled because it's only a option in LBP3, not LBP2. The difference between the layer glitch and it not allowing you to use the sackpocket is that it's treating the extra layers as actual layers LBP3 could work with.

Basically, every LBP2 and 1 level is being treated as a LBP3 level without the Sackpocket or Quest Log. The Layer Glitch isn't like that, it's not a setting.

Hmm. Maybe they're working on a way to fix this somehow though. Hopefully it's not so hard that they can't actually fix it eventually.

I still don't see why limiting the layers a player can move in if its an LBP1&2 level would be hard. In fact this is a tool that should have been in the game to begin with, as to not break the template grounds they had.

The game recognizes a LBP1/2 and that can be seen in the pod because it has a LBP1/2 icon on the level. So if the devs could use that information, the game would turn off this hidden and only usable by devs setting that the level is limited to three layers. And if it's a LBP3 level, the setting will iust be full 16 layers.
Not really hard ey?

Exactly what I was thinking and personally I was expecting this to be a global setting for us to use too, like set our levels to 5 layers, or 7 for example.

I had to change my levels on LBP2 and put sticker panel. Took me a while cause the levels were full-thrrmometered.
