LBP3 The journey home - Good or Bad?

Ok so this thread has been set up to discuss the new DLC for LBP3 - The journey home.

I have it myself and played through it and overall, thought it was relatively fun. I particularly enjoyed the x2 mini game levels as I believe they really brought out the best of co-op gameplay. Also I believe the story was good and found it thoroughly entertaining!

However, it does have a few negative points in my opinion. Firstly (what a surprise) there are glitches within the DLC. The only one I really found to be a problem was when I had obtained all prizes (100%), my pin progress said 98% and my trophy didn't pop. I tried everything to get the trophy, restarting the PS3, cleaning the game as well as many other things, and still it wouldn't pop. After checking tiwtter, I found that a PS4 user was having the same problem as me. So in a sense, I basically gave up on the trophy and went back to create to amuse myself. Later, I was playing through the normal story and got a new prize, and guess what's happened?! My pin popped and so did my trophy! Strange huh?!

Lastly I thought it was nice to include previous LBP characters in the new storyline, but I thought it ruined the original LBP Magic to an extent, whereas they could get away with it in LBP2. This is because for all you old timers out there (like me) who remembers playing through the original story and seeing what magic could be achieved in create mode, you will also have a soft spot for all the characters created! My problem is, with the original magic mouths with those gibberish voices, did you ever imagine Frida in the way she was presented when originally it was some crying and a few burps! This seemed to have removed some of the original LBP Magic for me just from the way the characters did not live up to how I had imagined them, but then again everyone thinks differently and that's the real joy of LBP!

What do you guys or girls think?

This DLC is not a great one, but it's not good enough to be called a "premium" one.
Sumo Digital' s logic: "Let's make a dlc where you come back to the original locations and let's kick sackboy out of the game, because we have to show people that these three other guys are not completely useless, added to the game just to draw customers attention!"
Aaaaand they failed. That's it. Sackboy's the one who is keeping this game alive. Kicking him to the background wasn't very clever + replacing magic mouths with voice actors on the old curators ; damn Sumo really need lesson at making good "comebacks" and story aspects (like SENSE).

@SonOfSparda I'm glad some one agreed with me on the original part. Sackboy should've made more of an appearance imo as he was the one that that helped these characters in the first place. The voice acting ruined the story of LBP1 for me just Fridas voice sounds horrible.

I personally LOVED the kit! I enjoy listening to The King and Frida the Bride, their voices amused me. But maybe, why I don't have problems with it is because I saw the first game as pointless, I did not find it very fun, and the graphics bothered me. These may be because I was introduced to LittleBigPlanet with the second one, but I did get the first one shortly after. I seem to be the only one of whom enjoys LittleBigPlanet 3 to the brim, and loves Sumo Digital's contributions to the franchise. I like them better than Media Molecule, not that I don't like them, but they are better at games like Tearaway, not so much LittleBigPlanet. I know, I know, they started LittleBigPlanet, but they abandoned it, and Sumo Digital took it and has made my FAVORITE game, EVER. PERIOD.

Something is, I have an adjective in my vocabulary. LittleBigPlanety. LittleBigPlanety describes the handcrafted look of something, something LittleBigPlanet 2 lacked. But, when I saw LittleBigPlanet 3, it brought SO much excitement, it was LittleBigPlanety beyond the first game! Needlepoint Peaks just felt so right, so did the rest of the game! OddSock, Toggle, and Swoop Media Molecule probably would have never thought of! They probably would have sticked with Sackboy, through to the end. I see them as very fun and useful! I see more possibilities with the new characters, they are definitely NOT useless, and The Journey Home gave them a moment to shine, along with all of the memories coming back from the original games! If Sumo Digital would remake the original 2 games, I would buy them! Especially considering how wonderful these levels are, even though The Station and Tarsier Studios were big helpers, I still see Sumo Digital crafting it's way through it.

The Journey Home is my favorite DLC they have brought out, (second of which is The Move Pack) and I can't wait to see what else they through our way!

@diamonddiancie10, that is all well and good and I respect your opinions. However, I just can't imagine LBP1 or 2 being made by Sumo, the bugs and glitches and mishaps would be worse than now! Moreover, I personally prefer gameplay with just Sackboy. Toggle, odd sock and swoop although they are cool just seem not to have gained my interest as well as they could. I did like the journey home but it's not the best DLC I've ever brought (hats of to tarsier for that), and I'm frustrated how Sumo's idea of fixing their multitude of bugs is by bringing out DLC's and even more DLC's and nothing seems to be improving. Trying to get through to them is like speaking to a brick wall. That's why MM will always get my preorders, and I will possibly never purchase a game from Sumo again until stability is reached.

All the bugs and stability issues could've been improved through an open beta, not a closed beta too. I'd rather MM make the LBPs, I didn't encounter as much bugs in LBP 1 or 2 as I have in 3, it's big game I know. A lot of change, but it could've been mostly fixed with a beta filled with people. In my eyes Id focus on the problems and not making new DLC. If that happened who knows how much better things could be? I liked the DLC to an extent, but the voices added to the LBP 1 characters just didn't do it for me, I wanted to revisit LBP 1 not see a spinoff of what it would be like in LBP 2 and 3. If I saw the levels from LBP 1 story, it would make me have nostalgia. I would want to go back, but sadly I'm on Ps4 and the only way to possibly revisit those levels are from people who used the God glitch in LBP 1 and copied the levels to their moon and then published them.

@Co-baseball246 my friend, that paragraph sums up my whole argument. At least now I know I am not alone in my thoughts, and that someone out there agrees with me and it's not just me being stubborn and not accepting ( or willing ) to move on

I don't care much about the levels, I was a bit miffed that every new decoration was an object that I already have put into decoration form. Lazy if you ask me.

I really liked these levels. And I feel very differently about the decorations than Tynz21.

Decorations are FAR better than objects and all of these decorations they added with this pack are going to help me a lot. I'm already using those walls and objects for a top down level.

As for the levels themselves, I'm glad they focused on only the new characters. I was looking forward to seeing more levels featuring these new characters in the main story but was disappointed to only get a handful of them. All of these levels were a ton of fun and the added challenge levels for two players were all great!

I just wish there were more levels like this!

We quite liked the levels, they felt much more fun than the original levels. The side quest mini-games we thought we a great addition! we could easily replay the side quests over and over, more so than the original story ones.

Really liked the co-op element of the side quests!
